Razed Eyebrows: Beauty's Strangest Trend?

I detest getting older. My eyebrows have an "andy rooney-esqe" feature in a few places in that wild, wirey, gray sticky-uppy hairs have now come on the scene. BUT I won't be shaving them or plucking them any time soon. It could be worse that it is now. Trim, trim, trim with round nose scissors, but even that is getting harder as my close-up eyesight is going and I can't do so good without my glasses. Sort of go by feel now.

David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust influenced many young adults who tweezed their brows away.

Guess what, they usually do not grow back, at least not to their former glory.

I just caught Kimkar dash i an on TV posing with this new eyebrowless-look with purple/maroonish lips and white powdered skin. She claims it's the new fall look. Apparently, the vampire is the new it girl. Who knew that vampires had no eyebrows? I guess I've been concentrating too much on the fangs.

I must look more carefully at the next vampire I encounter...

Whoopi's style is comfort. She wears roomy clothes, sneakers, no make-up or worry about arching her eyebrows. It works for her AND she's got a man in her life.

FYI folks: Eyebrows change as we get older... I used to have almost a uni-brow when I was a teenager... I never over-tweezed them, but now, in my late 50's they have gotten much thinner and sparser, and include greys that don't help the situation. I have to add color/definition or I look washed out. (It seems to be the opposite of what happens to men's brows, which seem to become bushier with age)... The only good side of this phenomenon is that other body hair also gets thinner/sparser too, so there is a lot less shaving required!

I have the same experience. Brow powder and lip gloss are the only two cosmetics I use, and I wouldn't leave the house without my brow powder. And the good news, as you say, is that I only have about a dozen hairs on each leg. That's wonderful.

I've e-mailed hair product companies, asking them to come up with a semipermanent dye that's safe to use on eyebrows. I would think that would bring in some profits.

Don't do it!!! Eyebrows don't grow back after being repeatedly shaved. They'll be drawing them on for the rest of their life...and whatever you do, don't draw on brows after drinking alcohol.

are you kidding me? there is nothing evenly remotely pretty or cute about Whoopie Goldberg. Every time I see her I remember an article that was in the Washington Post some years ago about a "roast" they gave her for her birthday when she was dating Ted Dansen; it was the most insulting article I ever read and I have not forgiven her for it
