David Arquette Apologizes For Latina Women Remark

David Arquette, who was fighting hunger in New York this week, has issued a statement apologizing for comments he made about Latina women, saying in part, "I have nothing but love and respect for Latina women and women in general of all cultural backgrounds."

Appearing on Fox News earlier this week, Arquette said in part:

"I think Latina women are, I mean, it depends on the woman, but I think they are very, they have great judgment, but there are some that are just nuts. I'm just saying."

And Friday he apologized.

STATEMENT:

"I would like to issue an apology for the comments I made on Fox and Friends. My intent was to be humorous and not offensive. I have nothing but love and respect for Latina women and women in general of all cultural backgrounds. What saddens me most is that it took away from the issue of Hunger in America, for which I was on the show to begin with. I work and a pantry in Venice California with a hispanic women named Delpia (who has been feeding people at St. Joseph's Center for 29 years) and she is my personal hero. Having been raised in Los Angeles I have grown up with a deep and profound love for the Latino culture."

He can shove his apology. I'm a latin lady and a 5th generation Arizonan who's been married to a white guy for almost 40 years. We're passionate women who strive for success in everything we do. Not sure who those "locas" are you hang around but find better friends. Most friends don't speak badly of them unless they're your friends on Fox.

Sounds like Arquette is just covering his ass b/c he got busted for his crass remark. Man up buddy! I've never watched him or listened to him. And if his pandering to his Faux News friends is any indication of who he is, then I see I made a good choice to ignore him.

Stop lying, with the failure of Prop 8 and the negative attitudes that Americans have shown towards lesbians lately, if he had said some lesbians are nuts, you'd be marching in front of his house protesting whatever he does next, not strictly because you were offended, but because you and some group would try to score political points to advance your cause.
