Thank you Paul Krugman. They deserve it and much much more.
I am so sick of the betrayal we are seeing of the American people in favor of corporate greed.
These six are a total disgrace.
"If the Gang of Six really does kill reform, remember their names; they will bear the responsibility for vast, unnecessary suffering over the years to come."
Ron Wyden is serving his last term as U.S. Senator from Oregon.
The Vichy Dems are easy to deal with.
JUST BUY THEM OFF !.
They are purely on the take.
For now, just pay them more than their
sponsoring corporations.
For their reelection, sponsor Progressives instead.
Tell the DLC and the DCCC to take a hike.
The Democrats are the new Republicans. We need a legitimate progressive party.
It would seem that Paul Krugman has decided to rid himself of his much vaunted reputation, by becoming the mouthpiece for the Obama White House.
Much like the Republicans have rid themselves of their much vaunted reputation for financial conservatism, integrity and intelligence over the last 20 years.
Over the last 30 years. Republicans have rid themselves of their much vaunted reputation for financial conservatism over the last 30 years.
http://www
Any reputations for integrity or intelligence had to be personal, not due to association with the Republican Party, if not from the time Nixon's role in Watergate became known, then from no later than the time that Gerald Ford pardoned the crook.
The same Krugman who's also a scathing critic of the Obama administration economic policy? He's a mouthpiece?
For an educated Observer, you seem to think in (demonstrably inaccurate) ad hominems.
Boy, someone really musta put the strong arm on Pauly, he's been toeing the party line like a good little boy lately.
Sorta like Fox, huh?
We need health care for all Americans now. These "centrist" Senators are in the pocket of the drug and insurance companies. Look into who funds their poliical war chests. The 2 "moderate" Republican Senators from Maine cruise around the state scaring the elderly about drug and insurance costs. All lies. Then they vote to prohibit poor and elderly Mainers from importing the same drugs at a much cheaper price from Canada. They need to go.
You are forgetting about the widespread fear in Congress a few years ago about Canadian drugs being unsafe leading to a ban on Americans traveling to Canada to buy drugs.
change starts with us,,,,,,,,,,,,,lets get off our duffs, away from the computer and start knockin' some heads on health care. we got 'O' elected, and we can get this done.
If the present bill or future rules and regulations have mandates to stop / end inefficient and redundant medical care, we can afford health-care for all AND reduce the cost.
The Rand study shows that sixty percent of care is over-utilization, under-utilization and inappropriate utilization.
The Dartmouth study shows it costs twice to deliver care East of the Mississippi as compared to West of the Mississippi. We do not have to go to Canada to show us that we have a problem. We can / should solve without resorting to scare tactics.
The President is right. Let's pass the bill. Then fine-tune it, through rules and regulations from the bureaucracy or Acts of Congress; as we encounter any issues that may need to be addressed. This is NOT rocket science. The current debate IS lobbyists money at work.
Look folks, if you were paying attention at any point during Obama's run for office, what was the driving point of his speeches??? He said constantly that change starts form the ground up, in other words it starts form the people. He said the same thing during his speech at the NAACP. Stop waiting for the government to make change, because if it's totally up to them it will never come. Take to the pavement and make them get to work for YOU. CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU THE PEOPLE.
Although I agree with Krugman in this regard, I am so dam=ned sick of Krugman 'slamming' everyone! Does this man ever give positive feedback for a job well done to anyone? Geeeeeze - get over yourself Krugman!
How many years now have the whores who call themselves our 'leaders' talked about the need for immediate 'election refort', lobbying reform and health care reform? For decades because we still (not me) think they really give a crap about any of those issues. Again there will be no health care reform. The historical record should make that clear. Obama is a status quo neo con just like pretty much every single person he's appointed.
"When all government, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the Center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated.
Those who claim to love the Constitution must have never read it or forgotten it. Let's stop all the blah blah blah about this. There is going to be no reform, in fact it's going to get worse because worse for us is better for them. Prove me wrong but read the history of the last 30 years before you decide to take me on. I'm curious if Vegas posts odds on this stuff? I'll take all bets without their advice though. All three branches are running the most profitable scam in history and you think they're about to give it up? Your health care money is used to buy weapons that put us at risk rather than secure us as the whores maintain.
