Back home in Union City, N.J., these last few weeks, Senator Robert Menendez would walk into a restaurant only to have someone shout the inevitable question. "Oye, ¿cómo le va a la jueza?"

Translation: "Hey, how's it going for the judge?"

I wish that Senator Menendez would tell Ken Salazar that he is a Democrat and not Ken Salazar Bush. Little man with a big hat. Other than that I am glad that Sen. Menedez is there talking to the Hispanics..they need a voice other than Martinez.

I am glad to hear there is communication on the side of the Democratic Party with the "Hispanic" electorate. Republican Newt Gingrich has been reaching out with twitters in Spanish (too bad about the ideological content). Some people are against the use of Spanish because it will somehow wreck the integrity of this country. I disagree. Europeans speak multiple languages and they still remain sovereign. I wish more of our politicians were multilingual.
