Get the troops out and let Iraq get on with their civil war.

It's Iraq's right, of course. But Iraq can't demand we put our troops at greater risk.

I read this article and all I can think about is the Beirut Barracks bombing.

238 Marines and Docs plus 3 Army members lost that day. ROE by way of that Republican Admin that were going to tell those Marines how to protect themselves.

If the troops cannot do it right they need to come home at once.

There is no middle ground here.

They either do what they need to provide security or they come home.

Did we won yet?

Sure got rid of Iran's enemy on the left. And Iran's enemy on the right (Taliban). Good deal for them. But for the US'ers? Not so sure. Perhaps better now to go on back home where we belong.

They have a lot of nerve, trying to tell us what to do. If France tried a thing like this,......oh wait, France already has. Sixty odd years ago, deGaulle told us to get all of our troops out of their country, and we did. Of course, we thoroughly trashed the bases that we evacuated, to make them as useless as possible to the French, but we did get our troops out of their country.

It's been a cock-up from the get-go. Why would anyone expect this to be any different.

"startled American commanders and raised concerns about the safety of their troops. "

Well then lets just get out of there. Come on Obama, make it happen, bring the troops home - from Afg too!

I was (am) all for Obama's "slow, careful" withdrawal plan, but if this is true, it is clear we need to get out ASAP. They don't want us there.

This is an irony of sort. Them Iraqis want us out, but we insist on staying. "Our [Iraqi] partners burn our fuel, drive roads cleared by our Engineers, live in bases built with our money, operate vehicles fixed with our parts, eat food paid for by our contracts, watch our [surveillance] video feeds, serve citizens with our [funds], and benefit from our air cover," Bolger noted in the e-mail. Mr. or Ms. Bolger did they invite you?
Did not think so either.

Bring them troops home now!

Why are we still trying to encircle Russia with missile defense systems and encouraging former East bloc countries to join NATO?
Why don't we invite them to join us in a mutual disarmament pact and dismantle all our nukes? Maybe keep 20, but do we really need 20,000?

You REALLY think you can run an Empire with only 20 nukes? Wow. You'd need that for all the mid-east countries alone. What about Latin America, The Far East, Russia, Cuba? And oh, France?
