The weather has turned sticky, but the ladies in the limelight across the world know where to turn: to a great white ensemble. Whether it's a dress or a suit, accessorized or worn plain, light clothing is the only way to look cool this summer. Take a sartorial suggestion from the likes of Michelle Obama, Carla Bruni and Queen Rania: If you can't take the heat...get into some white clothes.

The tip for wearing white is to find the right white for you. As a general rule of thumb, pure white works best with cooler skin tones (both fair or black), creamy white for warmer skin tones and for the people who seem to be "on the cusp" and can't always figure out whether they are warm or cool and like to be a bit subtle in their approach to white they do best in slightly off white colors like vanilla.
But if you truly love pristine white, regardless of skin type, but you feel it washes you out, a bit more blush or a colored accessory will help alleviate the starkness. -Leatrice Eiseman @ morealivew­ithcolor.c­om

I really like MO, Carla, Rania and Letizia´s style. But in my opinion MO looks intelligent and professional but does not have a natural style and good taste, Carla have a natural style sense but she just look and stupid doll, always looking at the flashes and with strange manner posses. Rania and Letizia are just adorable for me... Nice women, always impeccably dressed

I really like Letizia's white dress with the green belt and shoes, that's my favorite of the "white" looks pictured. I think Rania is very stylish, too.

May the rest of the world adore Carla Bruni, but for me she looks cold and not at all sexy. MO and Letizia are far more adorable than she.

First Lady Obama looks gorgeous in that bright, crisp skirt and sweater and mauve blouse. V alerie Jar ret and Hil lary wear their creamcolored pantsuits very well, and Ra nia's cream dress with the delicate neckline is also cute. The others need color, accessories, and an iron -- or some combination thereof.

Yeah, a lot of the stuff I shot in Paris from collections were white. In fact I will be doing a white them shortly. The creative possibilities are endless.

The soft creams are especially lovely. A cool summery look for all except for the Speaker whose pantsuit is rather wrinkly and poorly tailored.

ITA about Pelosi. I think white cloth shows wrinkles more than other colors. The tailoring of the jacket, as you say, is pretty poor, and is evident when the jacket is buttoned. It's the kind of look one gets when waring a man's jacket that fits closely to the waste and hips.

Letizia looks absolutely gorgeous. If anything, she's a wee bit too thin, but I'm sure she's healthy. Unfortunately, next to some of the others, MO looks like she's had one too many trips to the IHOP.

I think it's not unusual for a woman's weight to shift from time to time. That she's gained a few pounds is what happens sometimes...that she wears clothes that are far too tight for her, that's a choice, and a bad one, IMO.

Very true: Every woman's weight can fluctuate from time to time. The important thing is that she looks and feels healthy. Our First Lady looks mighty healthy to me.

Let's remember we're viewing photography, which is notorious for adding pounds. A normal-sized person can look overweight.

Unless photography has changed dramatically since the inauguration, MO has gained weight. No big deal, just don't wear clothes that are too tight.

I'm sure she'll drop the weight quickly, once she settles down and addresses it. By all reports, she enjoys doing heavy-duty workouts every day, and the WH chefs can, I bet, make wonderful food that will help her drop a few pounds.

They're ALL photographed. I can agree you might get a bad camera angle which would be unflattering, but too heavy, and too tight is too much - for anybody - me included.

Bruni, the mannish Spanish lady and Letizia looked washed out in white. I think white only works on people with darker skin, such as MO and Rania. Even Hillary looked good in white because she was a little tan.

"Washed out"? They looked normal for their skin color. Pristine white on women with paler skin gives a kind of retro look, harkening back to days when being tanned was not considered a good thing.

Most of the younger woman looked lovely in their white dresses but I especially liked Mrs. Mubarak ( politics aside of course) in her suit with her lovely necklace. She just looks like a woman her age should look given her position. Dignified. I am surprised that Mrs. Pelosi did not have her jacket altered because she can dress beautifully. I prefer MO in a tailored snappy jacket or a tailored dress with a jacket...or just about anything that is tailored. Shrunken sweaters are just not elegant. When women are approaching 50 it is nice to look elegant and that means good tailoring. It is something all women learn as they age.

May, April, and Certainly March are not considered "summer". WHY DO YOU LIE TO ME HUFFPO!?!?! WHHHHY?

Even though some may be hotter countries than others, still not summer. If we have a particularly warm and sunny January, it's still not summer. Unless you are south of the equator, which none of these countries are.

But the ladies do look fabulous.
