Democrats Threatening GOP's Control Of Florida For First Time In Years

For the first time since the GOP won control of Florida's government in the mid 1990s, the Democratic Party and its leading candidate for governor together raised more money than their Republican counterparts at the start of a gubernatorial election season.

Alex Sink, the state's Democratic Chief Financial Officer, raised almost $1.3 million to Attorney General Bill McCollum's $1.04 million, since April 1. The Democratic Party raised nearly $2 million, while the Republican Party of Florida raised almost $1.2 million.

I think flipping the Cuban-American voters has had a large effect also. For years, Cuban-Americans have voted Republican as a solid block.

However, I am afraid they may flip back if Obama changes his policy on Cuba.

You would think Cuban Americans would welcome the opportunity to call and fly to Cuba to see relatives.

Those who transferred / relocated to Florida - now referred by so many as Flara DUH!!- felt good about it until someone came out of the 'bushes' -- occupied an office the vicinity of the state capitol bldg .in Tallahassee (big bro. lived where our current president currenty lives) and ruined the economy here: This prior to 'recount' you see . . so you figure it out . . I am a Floridian and a Democrat. This is the first time in my history of choice that I am going to vote for a Republican. I love Charlie Crist. He is the "PEOPLE'S" Governor. I trust him to do whats best for the People and not what will make him friends with the likes of Rush Limbaugh.

I am a Floridian too and a TRUE Democrat. I will NOT be voting for a republican EVER. Don't be fooled by the Charlie Crist moderate republican label because when he gets to DC he is either going to be an obstructionist with his Party of No or he is going to be an obstructionist with the Gang of Whatever. So, if you are a TRUE Democrat you will vote Democrat and make Florida a BLUE state with two Democratic Senators and a Democratic Governor. It is time we released the Red State label, period.
