Maybe Obama just doesn't want to associate with YOU, Jessie.

For many decades, Jesse Jackson has been a leader in the black community. It is well documented his shakedowns of corporate America for blacks in the United States, especially those who live impoverished, have created new millionaires amongst his close family members and personal friends.

Mr. Jackson is an opportunist in the worse possible way. A testament to his leadership ability is the rising crime, continued high-rate of young people dropping out of high school; a deeper erosion of black family values and all in the very communities he purports to serve ... those who need him. Mr. Jackson and his race-baiting politics have ill-served the black community.

No doubt, if he comes between stimulus dollars and the communities were such funds are targeted, Mr. Jackson will enhance the financial coffers of those in his inner circle, including himself. Education and the children will continue suffering even more as he passes out baskets of food to appease the poor and stages jailhouse visits to showcase his value.

As a former community leader in Chicago, I'm sure President Obama understands Mr. Jackson's MO with great clarity.

If you want a sit down, perhaps stop threatening to cut off Obama's "nuts" on national tv.

I wouldn't call Jesse Jackson a black leader. I mean, he's black, but what does he lead, really?

I'm confused? Wouldn't healthcare reform be a HUGE score for not only the African-American community but the WHOLE of America?! I love my black people, but sometimes we separate all of our issues from the rest of the US, when in fact, everybody, especially now, suffers from the same issues as does our community: poverty, lack of healthcare, unemployment, and broken communities...it's a nationwide epidemic, and one man having been in office for 6 months can't solve all of the nation's issues. I still believe that all of the marginal issues will be handled in President Obama's second term in office. That's when I expect to see a more progressive Obama and less of a centrist Obama.

Very nicely stated sir/ma'am!

Too often people have embraced the idea that of segmented communities, when we are all Americans, and all ultimately have the same interests.

Does he mean leaders like him that threaten to do something to Obama's privates

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:03 AM on 07/20/2009

exactly. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Jesse is completely irrelevant but his comments relegated him to the far reaches of political and social importance. The thing is that Obama is a leader, not a black leader... yes he is black and a leader but as we've seen there is quite a difference. It would do him a disservice to engage you, especially after your vitriolic rant. Jesse I adore what you stood for when it really mattered but the war is over, there are still skirmishes to be fought but we no longer need a wartime general...in a way you should be happy... you helped to get us where we are. Now sit back and $hut up.

Jesse
Stop trying to stir up trouble! You know damn well that Obama can't be percieved by whites as speaking to Black peoples concerns with any Black Leader of any kind. Just listen to the conversation that Good Ole Pat Buchanan had on the Maddow show about how Black people and Latin women have their boot on the neck of all white men and how minorities are holding white folk down with this crap about Reverse Discrimination. Why, Black folk can't even sue at the High Court if Sotomayor is confirmed because her judicial record proves that she has ruled against the plaintif in 78 out of 96 times in "Race Based discrimination cases". No Jesse, Obama is NOT going to give more access to Black Leaders to discuss our concerns, becasue all of white people's fears would come to life, that a Black President would make sure that Black People would actually be at the table, and not just all that flowery talk.

Jesse - not enough attention lately? Jesse, Obama is president for ALL the people now. He can't concentrate on only one group.

Thank-you!

Why do these so called "leaders" keep assuming that all people of color agree with their politics!

I don't and I know there are millions of other who do not agree with Jesse Jackson either!

Segregation was outlawed years ago and I will not support it in any way, shape or form it takes!

Respect him for what?

Saying he wanted to castrate the President, riding Martin Luther King Jr's coattails for the past 40 years while really doing nothing and cheating on his wife and having a child with his mistress while preaching from the pulpit?

Your expectations are pretty low, huh?

Jesse, did you engage with Bush a lot??

Can we get health care reform first??

The President is trying to fix 8 long years of nothing, nada, zero work for the American people!

Jessie, like it or not, Obama is the President of the US. Not only the AA community.

He just gave a speech at the NAACP, and in it laid much of the responsibility on the community itself. He recognizes that the community is only as healthy as the individuals that live in it. Hence his message of personal responsibility.

You on the other hand......

I love Jesse but he need to go on tour with Bill Cosby and march in the black community to stop the crime that it is plaguing the black community.

You need to go on march to stop the crime is plagueing the WHITE community! Crimes like. Dissappearing Children, Wifes and families being murdered by angry white men.
You also need to march to stop white police officers from coming over in the black community to point a hypocritical finger while his neighbors wife is stuffed in afreezer in the basement. You need to March to stop crimes like sub-prime lending. Start there then we can talk!

Bill tried giving the same points a couple years ago, and Jesse and Al lambasted him for it. He has kept a pretty low profile since.

People like Jesse and Al only have power when they can play the victim card. Otherwise, they have not actually contributed anything for many years.

We didn't need President Obama to tell us that! Why do you continue to act as if we can only have one wise person at a time. We don't need YOU to validate anything. Thanks! President Obama AND Jesse Jackson is welcome not only amongst us but around the world.

You on the other hand.................

Nobody forced you to comment, tr0||.

I have seen your posts on a few articles today, and have yet to see anything resembling intelligence in any of them...

If you are suggesting that JJ is wise, it does more to show your lack of sense than anything else. He had his moments, but they were all from following MLK.

Jackson feels his influence fading. People are beginning to see that you have to go beyond being a victim if you want to actually accomplish anything.

Very true.

I may be wh1te, but from everything I have seen, and from discussions with my black friends, Jesse has done more to hinder progress in the black community than to help it.

He is only in it for himself, and has no actual honesty whatsoever. Same thing as Al Sharpton. Just look at what happened with the Duke players...
