If this HealthCare "Plan" isn't good enough for the Congress and The President to be covered by it, why is it good enough for anyone else?

You might want to ask your congressperson that question. But then no good re.thug would let the truth interfere with a good talking point.

In the spirit of Fairness and "Hope & Change", the question should not have to be asked. Asking our "Leaders" to enroll in the same program that they have created for everyone else is not asking too much.

Watched the speech.

Obama has given up on the health care issue. His tone was obvious.

A great day for free America.

If everyone is required to have insurance, does that mean that we no longer need to have worker's comp? No mention of that in this new bill.

From the article: 'Private meetings with lawmakers will become more frequent and urgent.'

Why in private? Why not on c-span ,as promised. I for one would like to know which politicians are there and what they're saying. Transparency was s'pposed ta be the big change we were gonna see, but, the only publicly aired forum, was a boondoggle, that ended up with single-payer advocates being escorted out the door by a coupla 'crewcuts'. There is no bill, yet, just proposals written in lawyer-speak that noone can fully comprehend. It is difficult to support or oppose any proposals when most are being made behind closed doors, then leaked by third persons. As for the house proposal being released, I am not convinced it will save enough on costs if insurance is allowed to keep making money off healthcare, by providing basically nothing. We need the final bill to debate ,or we need to see what's going on behind closed doors.

And now they s*avage Obama, none of it justified, because they see this man w/ a name different from their anglo name, who looks more like one of "them", one of them folks who've come here and taken their jobs, they money, their women, and their way of life.

None of what you posted is true. It's r@ce baiting at best.

How typical of a lib to use "groups" to pit one against another . . . something they deny daily.

Obama is being fought because his policies are destructive, weak, and leave us vulnerable.

You back his plans (also without reading them) because you believe what you are being told, that this is going to help America. Yet, Congress hasn't even read this bill and it's falling apart just like the Stimulus Bill did before it was rushed through and it's turned out to be a terrible thing full of wasteful spending and has yet to do one thing it was supposed to.

This Health Care legislation will be much the same because its being written by the same people, without debate, and without transparency.

Unlike you, I actually read long posts.

Exactly. The one effective way of defeating seriously monied interests is the power of consensus, of grassroots support, but Obama also has to rile people up to it as well.

This a.m I was listening to NPR. There was a gov's meeting this past weekend and they were saying that without the stimulus money they have recieved they don't know what they would have done. That included both republican and democrats. Only a small percentage of that money has been distributed so as more gets sent out things will get better.

So for all those whining about how fast the stimulus package was passed - without it there would have been a catastrophy. We might never know how bad things would be if it weren't for the stimulus.

President Obama knows exactly what he is doing and although I would prefer single payer, this is a start that perhaps someday will lead to it.

From the beginning some economists were saying that the stimulus needed to be larger. President Obama made the mistake of trying to compromise with republicans and it got watered down.

Economist continue to say it should have been bigger and the media picked it up and ran with it.

Right on ruby. We have to walk before we can run. And as far as the stimulus goes, the tax cut that is helping to pay for our vacation next week will be spread across four states, for what that's worth. A lot of people doing a little but can go a long way.

You want to talk lies?

LA TIMES;

Dick Cheney lied to me on war, says GOP leader

Now comes Dick Armey, once House Majority Leader, who described a classified one-on-one briefing in the vice president's hideaway office in the U.S. Capitol where he says Vice President Dick Cheney went beyond that into outright deception.

"Did Dick Cheney ... purposely tell me things he knew to be untrue?" Armey said. "I seriously feel that may be the case...Had I known or believed then what I believe now, I would have publicly opposed [the war] resolution right to the bitter end, and I believe I might have stopped it from happening."

Live with that...the troops do.
