I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The first family spent the weekend at Camp David, and when they returned home on Sunday they were the very picture of summer repose. The first lady's outfit was mostly white (which happens to be this summer's most popular color among first ladies and royalty), Sasha wore one of her peace symbol t-shirts, and Malia carried a big book that may have been summer reading for school. The only cause for concern was the president's persistent use of his Blackberry holster.

See below.

such a lucky family...those girls are experiencing more than they would ever experience just by sitting in a school room. What a future!

ATTENTION HATERS:

Asleep The The Wheel:

George W. Bush Spent More Than A Third of His Two Terms On Vacation

Yes, that's 487 days. And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Given how little time he actually spent doing his job it's a wonder he managed to screw it up so badly.

Obama is the Prez after all so why does everyone continue to treat the first family likre they are tabloid fadder? I personally don't care what the first lady wears anytime, nor do I care what boy toy band the daughters are listening to. They are the Prez's family but they have ZERO to do with running this country. I think if we were a little more concerned with the job that should be getting done instead of being so swollen up with the fact "we have a black family in the WH and aren't we so cool to have elected them". We only elected him and he is a paid public servant. Do you ask your mailman what his wife wears...do you CARE?

Well MO was billed as a fashion icon by the media so that is why I look at this site, to see her outfits that she has told us she does not care whether we like or not. It intrigued me that she was so assertive about doing her own thing.
However I agree with you that the First Family is being treated like celebrities by the media. This is encouraged by the PR team to promote Camelot 2. The Obamas encourage this. The pictures of the kids constantly at every event, the family vacations on official business, the "date " nights, the emphasis on MO's clothing all have contributed to this celebrity image which is starting to backfire. Obama is slipping in the polls. Folks are feeling "Obama fatigue" and as unemployment continues and little or no progress is being made on economic and job front and campaign promises are forgotten, the Obamas risk looking self-indulgent, frivolous and ineffective.

That's okay. We'll keep reminding people their other option is to go back to the neocon years.

So it was okay to fawn all over the Kennedy's (even long after many of them have passed) but since they are an African American family it diminishes the presidency to appreciate the beauty of this family?

Get off their back ~ they just got back from a visit to the camp on Sunday morning. They have a right to be left alone on their weekends.

And what's with the focus on his blackberry in two of the pictures???? At least he doesn't twitter while someone's talking to him.......

Today's cable news was filled with criticism of Obama's jeans worn to throw out the baseball. Personally, I have no problem with the way he dresses===he's dignified and looks good in his clothes. As for Michelle, well, she's the one who needs help!! The white crops and shirt--just another example of an unflattering outfit. You're wonderful, Michelle, but you need help!!

I think it's YOU who needs the help. She and her hubby are happy, and she's not going around nekkid. Yes - she has power and she sometimes has less than "white-chic" taste in clothes. You probably would like her to look like Margaret Thatcher or Carla Bruni -but not like say, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf - Prez of Liberia, right? Part of the melting pot is that there is no longer one "beauty standard" or dress code defined by the people who have held the office since Day 1 - white folksters.

I swear, we do not give them a minute of peace! We do not have to know what they ate for breakfast or what time they went to the bathroom. This is absolutely ridiculous!

Well that's a good thing, let's you know 1. they are not spending your money on clothes.... and 2. you can style your kids like her for a low price. I hope your comment was positive and not negative.

President Obama is NOT wearing the same shirt he wore the day before.
The Saturday shirt had a plain, solid collar and the one he's wearing on Sunday has a whire stripe on the collar.

I think it's time for Michelle to step in and insist he do something about his casual style. He's not interested....and too busy to buy new clothes but some of his looks are dated. He looks good in anything but the polos and khakis or similar are a tad bit passe.

I was going to say the same thing.

Why do they purposely lie about anything and everything.? Even things that are trivial. You have to wonder what the heck is their motive. It has to be the easiest job in the world to describe people's clothes and this person could not even do that with accuracy.

I think it's a positive thing for little girls with textured hair all over the world to see one of the first daughters wearing a hairstyle they themselves wear, and with confidence. It is a boost in positive self-image for millions of little girls to finally see it's okay to not have bone-straight or curly-waves in order to be cute.
