I don't care about the Polls, I can see for myself how
hard President O is working. to clean up the mess that Bush left
this country in. As for these do nothing congressmen who
claim they need more time, I say to them most of you
have been in office for at least 8 years, that is long enough
for anybody to come up with some ideas other than tax breaks
for the wealthy. We are going to get the health care plan that
we need and want so get use to it.

It always leads to progress when Americans are working hard. No exceptions.

What is amazing to me is that it is as high as it is. Or has anyone noticed how much money is being spent on ads and lies about Canada's and England's health care systems. Plus the Republicans and DINO s are doing all they can to discredit the health care proposals. The same strategy used in 1992.

Lauralics: No, Republicans don't think that way, they leave God as #1. I saw a liberal poster saying that God created earth in 7 days, so give Obama time. Alluding Obama or Bush is right up their with the creator is something a Repub would never do.
-------------

I know Republicans better than they know themselves. I study their psychology, take notes, develop profiles and keep records. Bush was certainly deified.

Bush talked to God, and Republicans acted on his prayers too. Title was bestowed on him as President, his followers did not even refer to him by name or office of the President.

And now we hear the White House is not releasing the latest budget numbers until August.... delaying until after Congress adjourns....

Wonder why that is?

You think if the numbers were good, they'd be delayed? Or is it just that he doesn't want the country to see how far things have fallen off their optimistic projections and just how bad off we've gotten in the past 6 months?

This is where I have the greatest problem with US economic policy makers. I don't think they have ever recognized that the excessive, credit-driven expansion of the US economy was unsustainable in the long run and that, sooner or later, the current crisis was inevitable. The bubble deniers deny there was a bubble and deny that their own stimulus caused it. They see nothing wrong with what they were doing and no reason to stop doing it. Instead, they add more stimuli...and create new bubbles.

Any rational person can give only 0% approval for 0% accomplishment and 100% sellout.
A somwere around 50% approval may only be a measure of hope that people still have. We all need to hope to avoid the worst.

Every Republican in Congress, every single one of them, has signed a pledge to a man who wants to drown "We the people" for the purpose of generating private profits. It is criminal ideology.

They want the President to fail. And they spread outrageous hyperbole and lies, because that is all they have. Some tro// just left of Lenin... " Real Americans"

As opposed to the Rassy poll, I stick with the Gallup daily for several reasons. The Rassy is a full 8-9 points outlying. You have to give 8+ points to Democrats in that poll.

The Rassy is a Republican "feel good" poll.

Bush's poll numbers were relatively unchanged for that year and half of his office.

http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

Obama approval: 60%
Dissapproval: 33%

rich misty loves to post one poll, and one poll only. Even that won't last forever because the poll she won't post is the gallup poll that has Obama's policy number below 50%. That elevator doesn't go up it goes down. Obama's popularity cannot remain high when people h8te his polies.

I use Gallup, the Gallup daily poll followes the mean consistently... +/- 1-3 points typically.

And there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with the President on various issue.

I'm not going to post an opinion bashing the polls, the Washington Post or ABC. My instincts tell me that they are probably right, but what kills me is how the "average" American in these polls wants Obama to cure all of the Country's problems without actually spending anything to do it. It also amazes me how people expect this president to do the exact same thing Bush did in terms of acting like a pseudo-dictator and generally ignoring Congress. It seems to me that Obama's biggest problem are lazy constituents who looking to be saved rather than putting pressure on the congresspeople who actually stand in the way of what he is trying to accomplish as well as constituents with unrealistic time lines of how long it takes to see change.

Fanned and faved.... There is too much religion in America. Obama is just a man, talented and competent, but still just a man.

Republicans were trying to convince Americans that Bush was the Second Coming... And a lot of people actually believed it.

Welcome to America, land of instant gratification. We are a society of fast cars, fast food, fast checking, same day delivery, pay your bill online, no money down, take it with you now. Then along comes a guy who says that not everything will be fixed overnight, and they don't like that.

"b b b b but I can get my super ultra jumbo meal in 5 minutes for 5.99, so why can't we fix the economy or healthcare that fast?"

We've got along way to go with education in this country, it seems.

Excellent post.

President Obama has been in office for six months, and he's facing challenges - both domestically and abroad - that no incoming President has faced in generations, if ever. But it seems that ordinary people on both sides of the aisle expect miracles from him. They expect him to fix in 6 months an economy that took 30 years to break, to fix health care without giving up anything on our part, to somehow bring an end to the war in Afghanistan that Bush ignored for 6 years, and to be as irresponsible in leaving Iraq as Bush was in getting us in there.

Sometimes, I believe that people really do believe that President Obama is the Messiah.

And the irony is...it's usually not liberals and leftists who believe he's the messiah...after all, it's the tighty righties who call him that constantly.

Well the nation's temperature today is 59 degrees Celsius for some and 24 F for others and then there are those in the middle with a temperature of about 44 degrees F. The outlooks is mostly cloudy with fair skies in the late afternoon, becoming cloudy again, thunderstorms possible overnight. Stay tuned as all of this is likely to change, any minute now.
