When I was in Ireland , I was informed by some nice Irish folks that the locals in Blarney think it's hilarious to go out at night and piss on the rock, knowing tourists will be kissing it the next day. Luckily, I never visited the rock.
Heard the same thing when we were there.
I have heard this too, but consider, Why would they piss on the very thing that is bringing in outside money into their community? Could the story have started from the envy of the towns further away from Blarney?
What ? ... there are no germs in Ireland. St. Patrick threw them all out with the snakes. Everybody knows that.
