NEW DELHI (Reuters) �" The United States and India are expected to sign an agreement on Monday that would take a major step toward allowing the sale of sophisticated U.S. arms to the South Asian nation, three senior U.S. officials said.

Good. For goodness sake, they're our natural ally and in a strategically crucial part of the world in regards to Iran, Afghanistan, and of course, Pakistan and China.

Just make sure the Pakistanis don't get too upset or distracted at the border. Fortunately respective Congress and PPP-led gov'ts are less likely to ratchet up tensions (in theory anyway, and barring some unforeseeable event).
