Joe Jackson Implies Doctor Foul Play In Michael's Death

LOS ANGELES — Joe Jackson said in a televised interview Monday that he's taken his son Michael's death "very hard" and believes the doctor who took care of him could be behind the singer's demise.

The patriarch of the Jackson family appeared on "Larry King Live" and implied his son's personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, may be to blame for the death.

"The doctor gave him something to make him rest, and then he don't wake up no more. Something is wrong there," Jackson said. He did not refer to Murray by name.

A phone listing for Murray could not be found, and two messages left with his attorney, Edward Chernoff, on Monday night were not immediately returned.

The family is awaiting the coroner's toxicology report to determine how Michael Jackson died at the age of 50. The results are expected next week.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and removed several bottles of the powerful anesthetic propofol from Jackson's home, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation. The person is not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

Jackson suggested Murray couldn't be found following his son's death on June 25.

"This doctor, he ran away. They had to look for him three days to find him. To me that is foul play," Jackson said.

Police interviewed Murray two days after Jackson's death. Authorities say he is a not a suspect, though the cardiologist is a key figure in the investigation because he was with Jackson in the mansion and tried to revive him. His car has been seized after police said they believe the vehicle may contain drugs or other evidence.

Wearing a black fedora and a gold medallion of Africa hanging around his neck, Jackson appeared on the show with promoter Leonard Rowe. When asked by King how he's dealt with his son's death, Joe Jackson replied, "I took it very hard."

Jackson added he didn't know where his son's body is being kept and hasn't seen the results from a second autopsy performed on Michael Jackson at the family's request.

At last, Joe Jackson, reviled by his wife and children, living by himself, in his gated community in Las Vegas, and still dreaming of "one more big score," gets his 15 minutes of fame, courtesy of Mr. Softball, Larry King.

That's so three weeks ago.

that was one of the weirdest interviews ever

I don't know why Larry King had these two clowns on his show. They were/are an embarrassment and an insult to Michael's memory. I think the family is keeping Jackson Sr. as far away from Michael's children and the details of Michael's autopsy and business and and the other siblings seem to not want to have anything to do with him either. Just my impression of the interview because Jackson Sr. didn't know anything. Remember at the Memorial Janet Jackson said the family elected her to speak on their behalf and she didn't even look at or greet her father.

Why does the media cater to a man know to abuse his children?

Dr. Murray probably "vanished" because he was sh*tti*g bricks after MJ's expiration. He's probably hiding out in TX somewhere. He's so scared he doesn't know what to do. The Jacksons want to blame anybody but if MJ was paying out the cash to feel good, he's just as responsible for his own demise along with the dr's.

Joe appeared sad. I don't condone how he disciplined his children but I'm quite sure he still loves them all and is grieving his son. There were some good qualities about JJ--he worked 2 jobs to feed his kids. Many men abandon their large families and leave it up to momma to raise them.

Discipline? How do you construe abuse to be discipline? Rhetorical question...

He may feel affection, but a narcissist like JJ is not capable of real love.

Please look at these Home Movie's Michael allowed Fox to film; One of them is about Joe Jackson Day. It is very enlightening concerning Michael's conflicted relationship with his Father. You should look at them all; it is very, very interesting! Explains alot about Michael and Joe love hate relationship; this is common in some families! Michael does not believe in spare the rod spoil the child but Joe was raised in the era of spare the rod spoil the child.

MJ died at the age of 50, a man in control of and responsible for his own life.
04:24 PM on 07/21/2009
I agree. Any poor decisions he made was due to the excessive frying of his brain with those drugs.
11:50 PM on 07/21/2009
He 'fried' his brain, because?

Last nights spectacle on Larry King with Joe Jackson was cringe worthy. This is a guy who was banned from Michael and his family. This is a guy who was purposely left out of MJ's will. This is a guy who lives in Las Vegas away from the family and in a time of mourning promotes his new record label in public. This is a guy who is looking for more money from a son who gave his life to his craft and as a father is peddling his son's legacy with lies. No wonder MJ was so messed up, with a father like that! Gross.

Yeah, he has flaws but he was recently at a meeting with MJ about the tour in June, so I guess he wasn't too far out of the loop with MJ.

Saw this last night, and what a beast.

So obvious Mike cut his father out of his life decades ago.

Rest in Peace Michael.

Joe Jackson is a narcissistic, egomaniac. He was disrespectful to Larry King during the interview. Michael Jackson’s weirdness is attributed to how Joe treated him as a child. Michael let the world know the truth about how his father “Joe” diminished his spirit. Joe is relentless and unapologetic, but he fails to understand that he DID not make his son “Michael” the Star. Michael was the STAR. Shameful, this father never could help Michael. What a tremendous lost to endure knowing he was never the father Michael needed in his life. How sad.

"He was disrespectful to Larry King during the interview"

First:
Joe Jackson didn't OWE Larry King any more "RESPECT" than Larry King owed Joe Jackson.
For nearly a month we have been inundated with stories of what Joe Jackson did to his children. When the man finally shows up to talk and give his side of the story, the least Larry King could have done is LISTEN without interrupting.

"Michael Jackson"s weirdness is attributed to how Joe treated him as a child"

Second:
Joe Jackson raised NINE children, not ONE. It boggles the mind how those who ha te on and want to blame Joe Jackson, conveniently forget that fact. In order for your premise to be TRUE, please explain how Rebe, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Randy and Janet's LACK OF Weirdness is not attributed to Joe Jackson, but Michael's so-called "weirdness" is.

"Michael let the world know the truth about how his father "Joe" diminished his spirit."

Third:
Michael spoke about the whippings (that some in the media seem intent upon classifying as brutal beatings) that he endured at the hands of his father, but, he also spoke and railed about the ha teful US media; who were truly RELENTLESS and UNAPOLOGETIC in the attacks, denigration, demonization and even criminalization of this man, which resulted in the actual DIMINISHMENT of Michael's spirit.

Look back on things printed about MJ. Everything printed he caused them to do. Going publicly in pajamas; calling the NE so they would print that he slept in a hyperbaric chamber, wearing a mask just because, etc. This isn't nothing new. Celebrities do it all the time. When Britney Spears was going off her rocker, who do you think called the papparazzi to be every single place she showed up? She did. When it comes back to haunt them whose fault is it?

Besides the constant beatings, MJ described being thrown into walls, intentional tripping and severe verbal abuse. If you try to justify that I sincerely hope you're not anyone's parent..

Try as they might, the media KNOW they are largely responsible for Michael's torment.

Certain impish figures (e.g.: Nancy Grace, Jane Velez-Mitchell, Diane Dimond, Maureen Orth, to name a few) created a cottage industry of attacking Michael Jackson, and convicting him in the media of crimes he did not commit. Now, upon his death, instead of turning their ugly lens upon themselves, they are running with the storyline that Michaels problems were the result of whippings that he received as a boy. Yeah, right!
02:46 PM on 07/21/2009
Well said.

Jackson Death Probe Zeroes In on Source of Drugs

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,534217,00.html

Lead investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery and Homicide Division, along with several field agents from the Los Angeles Drug Enforcement Administration office, took a day trip to Las Vegas to follow up on leads indicating that at least one drug believed to have contributed to Jackson’s sudden death on June 25 originated in Las Vegas.

Sources could not tell FOXNews.com what drug was the focus of the probe, who was questioned or which medical practices were visited, but Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray runs a cardiology practice in Las Vegas.
