Lou Dobbs: "[L]imp-Minded, Lily-Livered Lefties" Attacked Me Because I Had The "Temerity To Inquire As To Where The Birth Certificate Was" (VIDEO, AUDIO)

On Tuesday, we noted that CNN host Lou Dobbs was doing his part to keep alive the conspiracy theory that President Obama is not an American citizen (AKA the "birther" theory). On Dobbs' radio show, he speculated: "I'm starting to think we have a document issue. You suppose he's un... no, I won't even use the word undocumented, it wouldn't be right."

Today, Dobbs hit back at his critics, calling them "limp-minded, lily-livered lefties" who attacked him only because he "had the temerity to inquire as to where the birth certificate was and why the president of the United States would not turn over that birth certificate to the national media and end the noise." The progressive watchdog group Media Matters today blasted out a press release to reporters charging that "CNN has a very serious Lou Dobbs problem":

CNN has a very serious Lou Dobbs problem on its hands," said Eric Burns, President of Media Matters. "All eyes are on CNN to see how the network will handle a host who has clearly become a stain on its journalistic credibility.

I think that Lou Dobbs asking Obama to produce a birth certificate is priceless since he has done this by posting it on his website over a year ago. Lou Dobbs has once again demonstrated that controversy trumps truth and since he has chosen to create controversy for the ratings I believe he has sacrificed whatever credibility he might have had

This BS that Dobbs or anyone calling on Obama to provide a real birth certificate and not just a receipt for a certificate of live birth as "racist" is absolutely ridiculous. Both rightwingers and lefties were already up in arms in 2007 about the possibilty of Arnold Schwartznagger running for president because he wasn't a "natural born" US citizen are well documented. The media and the Obama admin. keep lying and saying they have shown us all the actual birth certificate. WRONG! . Any birth certificate that does not show the hospital, hospital address, doctors name and signature, time of birth, weight, seal, etc. is not valid and only a copy or receipt. So why doesn;t Obama just show the long form original birth certificate once and for all? I am a liberal and I am not at all satisfied with Obama's ducking this, which he is. His grandmother and half brother have said more than once they witnessed his birth in Kenya.

If there was any doubt that Lou Dobbs is a card-carrying rascist, that has certainly been erased with the birther issue. He knows it is a lie but he joins the weak minded, simpletons that he surely looks down on otherwise and sinks to a new low. The worst thing that can be said of a journalist is that he or she has no respect for facts. Any demonstrable lack of integrity devastates a serious journalist's career. After this embarrassing series of provocative, destructive and dishonest "birther" commentaries, there is no reason to listen to Mr. Dobbs on any subject, ever again. The man has trashed his career; destroyed what remained of his reputation and joined the charlatans. From this point forward, Lou Dobbs is nothing more than noise pollution in American broadcast journalism.

For God's sake man, please make an attempt to rejoin the profession of journalists.

I am not a "limp-minded lily-livered lefty".

I am a small town conservative, father of four, small business owner, graduate of a military academy, and proud veteran.

There are many issues that are not "conservative" or "liberal". They are "mathematical", i.e. "2+2=4". Clearly Obama's status as an American citizen is just as clear as that mathematical truth, and we don't need "editorial opinions" disguised as journalism about mathematical truths. Your inability to acknowledge this (and focus on something actually important) is quite troubling. These idiotic and unimportant issues become associated with "conservatives" (since you blame the criticism on "liberals"), and makes those of us that are real conservatives look like morons, and I very much resent that.

Perhaps you're enriching yourself, but you are doing nothing to improve our country, the state of our journalism (or our editorial opinions), or the conservative principles that I support. I'm not sure we're going to win many elections with a platform that says "2+2=6".

As part of your recovery program, I suggest you stick a post-it note on your make-up mirror "Just for today, I will be a journalist".
