As a medical professional and self conscious health person I've come up with solutions not only for reforming the health care system but for things that we as individuals can do to decrease our health care costs. I've included many references in my article for others to pursue if they wish as well. You can read it hear - http://bit.ly/9QLV8

Maybe because a country with healthy citizens benefits you?

You would rather be a part of a country with unhealthy citizens? Way to be competitive.

You mean like this O great One?

“Let me be clear: if we do not control these costs, we will not be able to control our deficit,” the President said. “If we do not reform health care, your premiums and out-of-pocket costs will continue to skyrocket.

How's this for "scare tactics" from yet another unabashed corporatist Republican? Governor Rick Perry of Texas who has already endorsed seceding from the union over Obama administration policy has threatened to invoke the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to protect Texans from the heinous evils of health care reform, yet Texas in fact ranks the lowest in America for citizens without any health care insurance, whatsoever. And he is in favor of seceding. Hmmm? Anyone else see the sad irony in these two Perry concepts - seceding and invoking the Constitution, err whoops.

What happened to the last governor who was in favor of seceding from the U.S?

There are lots of issues as you start to read the details of the draft bills. Using Huff as a sample, you can see how few have bothered to read any of the drafts. Granted, one of the House versions is 1080 pages - but you can still scan them and see all the special deals cut for the lobbyists.

Obama Warns Against "Scare Tactics" In Health Care Fight. Obama against scare tactics on health care? He is the one who keeps saying the sky is falling, and we need to pass health care. If Obama's mouth is moving you know it's a lie.

Obama warning against scare tactics while using scare tactics... does anyone see the irony in this? All this administration has done is use scare tactics to get bills passed. Stim, Cap & Con and now we are watching the same scare tactics with Health Care "Take-over". I love hypocrites and double standards.

Fear is what GOP use instead of reasoned argument.

"Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death."

"What luck for the rulers that men do not think."

The fact Obama's poll numbers are declining over the health care issue is positive proof the intellectual level of the American citizen is below normal and slipping daily. The Republicans and a handful of blue dog Democrats are the only obstructionists.

If the American public had a collective intellectual level that allowed them to think clearly and act accordingly Obama's poll numbers would be going higher and the GOP would be below the 1% mark.

Case in point, today's story in the WashPost of former HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt criticism of the public option, "the choice would lead to "essentially a bankrupt system."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/23/AR2009072303798.html

However to the reporter's credit, David Hilzenrath, also points out that Leavitt's new post Bush admin. career is "building businesses to advise and invest in health-care companies."

Let's hope that bloggers on H-P are as diligent in revealing these "conflicts of interest" facts about those who will be pontificating against healthcare reform. Leavitt's opinion is worthless and a sham.

I think Obama needs to come up with his own version of the CBO -- a White House agency that will analyze congressional budgets and legislation and produce the results that he wants, and I have the name for this new agency: the Office of Imaginary Information.

Obama's healthcare reform plan is a scheme to gut medicare. Currently medicare authorizes a doctor to charge $123 for an office visit even though the doctor's normal fee for an office visit is $250. Medicare pays $20 and the senior is responsible for the remaining $103. Now Obama proposes to cut funding for medicare by $500 billion per year at a time that large numbers of baby boomers are about to enroll in medicare.

That is simply not true! On Medicare you go to your doctor and pay your co-pay and thats it!
