Grand Central Jewel Thieves

(Associated Press) NEW YORK -- It's one of the oldest tricks in the playbook of scams. New York City police said three men stole $120,000 worth of jewelry at Grand Central Terminal by furtively switching a bag containing the jewels with an identical duffel.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority police said two jewelry company employees were transporting the bag during rush hour at Grand Central on June 24.

The MTA said the employee with the bag put it down "momentarily" to throw away garbage.

That's when two suspects created a diversion by dropping a $10 bill on the ground, and telling the other jewelry employee that he had dropped the money.

A third suspect switched the bag for a nearly identical one that had been weighted down to appear as if it contained the jewelry.

It gets deleted because it doesn't have a purpose.. This is a unobjectionable video of a jewel heist, not the spreading of biased political propaganda. Think of it like avoiding eating unhealthy fast food, would pulling over to use their restroom mean you support their food selection?

If you really believed it would not be posted why did you submit it? If you are going to try and manipulative, don't be so obvious about it.

IT figures this came from the New York Post.

Its video is about as clear as its newspaper coverage. Craptastic.

This could be a new NBC show. Because there's nothing to see.

Not like FOX where they will make it up to show you.

Because when I give my employees $120,000 worth of diamonds in a bag I use all the time, no way would I give them $20 for a cab, let alone use a different bag once in a while.

It just says, "Watch one of the bandits caught on tape" It doesn't say at what stage. It doesn't show the swap.

"Im terminal, like grand central station." If the Rza says it it must be true.

Totally pointless. Footage may show one criminal after. but the video alone doesn't indicate who, thus not getting the word out at all.

I was robbed by pick-pocket 3 times while living and working in NYC.

The first time I was 18 and shopping for clothes for my first job. I was in a department store and found myself surrounded by 2 women who wanted my opinion on clothing. 1 distracted me while the other one apparently got into my very small purse and managed to find over $300 cash which I'd scrimped and saved to buy the clothes. I was heartbroken and nearly fainted in the dressing room when I realized what had happened.

The second time I was sucked into the "crowd" ploy where someone causes a commotion and a crowd forms to gawk. While the gawking was going on, I was pick-pocketed for over $100 which we had collected at my office that day for a gift for someone leaving. I was in my early 20's.

Third time, not sure how it happened but they stole my ALREADY ENDORSED paycheck. Again I was in my 20's.

For me, 3 times was the charm. Now I'm 46 and get robbed by the government on a fairly regular basis but at least I know it's coming.

No one put a bag down momentarily. No bags were switched.
