Palin invited to join that reality-based debate that relies on facts, science, tested economics and steely-eyed national security interests?
Not going to happen.
While Boxer and Kerry pontificated about energy, Palin was the executive of her state, and made decisions and legislation regarding energy.
Maybe Boxer could bring her NAACP statements to quote at the debate with Palin. I am not sure what Kerry brings to the debate. Maybe some pictures from his time in Viet Nam. Did you know John Kerry served in Viet Nam?
Google "Kerry Boxer energy legislation" and you'll get your answer.
These two have been involved in the national debate on this subject for many years (i.e. more years than, say, the opponent of their op ed was in any major office). Both have either sponsored or co-sponsored numerous bills related to energy. Go on, look it up. Your idea of "pontification" is actually logical exposition based on vast experience, like it or not. Your attempt to distract by bringing up other unrelated topics is a simplistic debate tactic, which is about all one might expect from a supporter of the former Alaskan Governor.
All talk, no action.

For those who read only the headline and not the full article, you may want to go back and actually read the article. It's very informative. Palin's OpEd was a publicity stunt, full of rhetoric and fear mongering. This article challenges Palin with facts and invites her to produce her own facts to back up her claims.
Since Sarah Palin has resigned, she should have to earn her place at any podium. Haven't we had enough of politics for politics sake - particularly when we're facing such serious challenges? Touted to be an "energy expert", she has so far failed to provide proof of that fact. If she is an expert, then she should speak to the points listed in this article, devoid of rhetoric and lies, with an effort to educate and influence. She should take this country seriously for once, and start working for the good of all its citizens, not just those in her "real America". Maybe then she will manage to see past the cameras andcelebrity and join forces with those who seek to set this country up for success.
Let's start getting serious with this stuff. We really need to stop patronizing those who stand for the dark forces that are pulling this country down. I hope that more Democrats start fighting the misinformation and media-whoring that is plaguing the political arena. The facts are on our side. If the other side has a decent argument - then they should make it, or shut up.
Fear mongering? Because she believes that the cap and trade will cost us money and lose jobs. There are many people who think that. I don't think that is fear mongering. She also gave many ideas of how to provide more clean energy to stop the carbon pollution.
mrskorn: who thinks that, and what are their credentials as economists, or whatever qualifications they base their 'opinions' on ???
The only reality based show she should be on is: 'I'm a Politician...Get me out of here!"
Palin is afraid to debate her own shadow. After that disaster with Biden I would be too. When her Pavlovian talking point reflex failed her she just started making stuff up like she was answering some question no one else heard.
Just tell me when! That should be rich!
It's just a way to get a few actual audience members there who aren't family or staffers.
To do that?
They needed to mention her name.
"...get a few actual audience members there..."
Um, where?
You mean, like, a debate? 'Cause that's not what the article says. Read it. They challenged her to join the discussion, meaning the broader "debate" on the topic. The article does not say, "come debate us at this place and time."
Anyway, it's obvious that "she" won't do it. Anyone who has ever read a word she's written knows that the op ed that appeared with her name on it wasn't actually written by her. She's incapable of the type of grammar featured in the op ed. Perhaps someone will join the discussion on her behalf, or in her name (most likely energy industry lobbyists).
"They needed to mention her name."
This is true. They needed to mention the now former Gov.'s name because the words that appeared on her behalf completely ignored the most important topic in the energy discussion: global climate change (something else you'd know if you had read the article). That's irresponsible politics. No big surprise, considering the source (i.e. someone who backs out on her purportedly beloved constituents because it's just too much hassle).
Does anyone have a link that gives evidence that Kerry ever stated his final approval for the Cape Wind project? Previously someone 'disagreed' with what I said, so I looked, but this is the most current update I could find from January 09. He still wasn't voicing his support. Thanks.

It would block his view. :)
McCain is responsible for all of this Palin crap. He probably picked her for her looks. Then, he was supposed to be the brains. But, and this is the real but, Palin is pulling the ticket...
A reality based debate would require people who are not delusional, therefore this will never happen, to crazy.
Palin should take that offer. Boxer and Kerry are two of the dumbest people in the senate and she has the winning side of the issue. She would clean their clocks
The only way this simpleton could clean ANYBODY'S clock would be with a feather-duster wearing a French maid costume.
...and lots of winking.
Palin is not able to hold a candle to Boxer.
They'd have better luck debating Bullwinkle J Moose.
Assuming the Sarah-copter doesn't have him cornered somewhere...
"Why, hello. Can I call you Johnny? Can i call you Barbie? You know I'd love to debate you all, by golly, but ya musta heard that I'm right in the middle of moving, ya betcha, but thanks for the lovely invitation. Call me back in a couple of months, especially if the debaters are getting paid for the event."
'Reality' and 'Palin' in the same sentence?
