Although there may be some "sticky wickets", it seems that she should be allowed to do her job. Those who are complaining seem to be complaining for all the wrong reasons. Why would the American public be unhappy if some of the big corporations were announced to be behaving in a manner that did not meet the public good? The RECESSION is not a reason to NOT DO THE RIGHT THING.

Maybe it is just me, but the people who have been doing their jobs well, all seem to be women? Some of the guys like Summers may have to figure out that there are smart women amongst them and they are up and comers....something that should scare him to work with, not against them.

Anti trust laws which I thought existed have been on my mind for some time.
It seems that these too large to fail companies have run rampant and are so large that they have the economy and the nation by the throat.
That is not healthy for anyone except a few.
To be a country dominated by a few business that have such power is ridiculous, especially if any of the senators and representatives etc.in government can be bought and sold by them.
I think that anti trust is an important issue and warrants much closer scrutiny.

Break up the media conglomerates and the financial cartels. And it should become policy that the companies that are too big to fail are, in reality, too big to be allowed to exist. They imperil us all.

Yes, but it looks as though our gov is about to put the same kind of power in the hands of the insurance industry. Then THEY will also be too big to fail.
See any correlation with "supply-side" economics here?

She's doing her job.

Is there something left about the danger of companies "too big to fail" that anyone out there still doesn't get?

I agree.

You can see the zeal in this woman's eyes, god. She and Sheila Bair should be dumped pronto.

She's trying to not be a ZOMBIE regulator like so many of our currently failing oversight commissioners.

Have you any interest in actual issues? or are you uncapable of rising above simple cattiness?

"moving so aggressively that they are finding some resistance from officials within the administration."

Its not about THEM. Those officials should be REMOVED from their positions.
It's about AMERICA and its CITIZENS.

Go get em, Obama.

those "officials" are acting for their boss. If O removes anybody it will be those who threaten the status quo for his beloved Gol dman-Sa chs.

Why can't we get a march together, a March for Healthcare Reform, and march on Washington. Why can't we do that, or call a work stoppage! Why are Americans so apathetic?

The Republicans love it when things go wrong with America, you and Limbaugh! THey're never, ever happy or wish for other people to be happy. They delight in other people's misery and see themselves as wearing halos instead of the pitchforks that are really in their hands!

Sounds like the way Democrats felt from late 2000 to 2006.

And incidentally, where were you in 2004, why did you true blue Democrats let Bush get re-elected? That was the real blow, not the 1st term, there was no reason for a Bush 2nd term if there was one for a 1st (which there wasn't IMHO). But instead of concentrating on beating Bush, you Democrats concentrated on a disastrous Democratic convention and that morose chronically semi-depressed character who ran for President. This whole economic mess and disaster was caused by a 2nd term President on cruise control, when his extremism really had a chance to take hold, but you Democrats couldn't stop it. So what makes you so great now? Just less bad than the Republicans?

The Republicans won't be his problem in 2012. It will be all the people who voted for him and for change! He'd better mind that!

Obama is not a victim. He's President of the United States. He has the power to change things as he was elected to do, but for some curious reason choses not to. I'd like to know why?

Turns out he doesn't have the power that you think. The Senate must cooperate and they don't seem to be interested. Too much money in continuing to destroy America.

Bush's boys should resign before they get prosecuted for racketeering.
