Michael Phelps Is Shirtless, Winning Gold At Worlds (PHOTOS)

Michael Phelps is in Italy for this week's FINA World Championships in Rome in top physical shape.

Sunday was the first day of competition, and Phelps and teammates Ryan Lochte, Matthew Grevers and Nathan Adrian won gold for the USA in the 4x100 freestyle relay.

Despite not training for months following his Olympic triumph and partaking in a little well-documented partying, Phelps looks as fit as ever. For the latest Monday swim results go here.

Great photos. Nothing pornographic or obscene about a perfectly defined athletic male bod .... so he wears the trunks low ... so what? The original Olympic athletes competed in the buff. They can bring back that policy as far as I am concerned ... it would make the games a lot more interesting. That could be a problem for Phelps though; too much drag in the water could slow him down. MIchael Phelps was the most incredible in the race that he almost lost at Beijing in which he was behind until his very last stroke. The other guy, who lead until the end, reached for the wall at the wrong moment. Phelps can never top Beijing. If he does, then he's Zeus.
