MSNBC Panel Debates Sarah Palin's Sex Appeal (VIDEO)

Donny Deutsch, noting that he was the sole man on an MSNBC panel to discuss Sarah Palin's sex appeal, decided to throw out his theory that "the reason we have a fascination with Sarah Palin, men and women, this is the first woman in power that has sexual appeal and people don't know what to do with it."

The reactions were fast and furious.

Host Tamron Hall responded first, calling it "ridiculous" and "insane."

Norah O'Donnell chimed in next, saying she thinks Deutsch is "absolutely right."

Radio host (and HuffPost blogger) Shannyn Moore demurred. But she did point out that lots of Palin supporters wear pins saying "Coldest State, Hottest Governor."

A lively discussion ensued.

But I have to laugh at ANYBODY who things she has a presidential political future. It'd be over after the first debate. The only way in, is as a VP nom, again. And who in their right mind would choose her.

Maybe there needs to be a return visit to MSNBC by David Pierce to explain once again why he (and many others) believe that the MSM may be one of the chief reinforcers/enablers of all this subjective political talk which has nothing to do with solutions to the current serious national and international issues facing our nation, tangible policy issues, or objective performance “results” needed by many political leaders.

Speaking of a past potential VP USA in the context of suitability towards that office relative to “sexual appeal” IMO surely falls into that category that Mr. Pierce was asserting. It’s pitiful that the second highest political office in the free world (and what could have been the highest office-one heartbeat away) should be discussed in terms of “sexual appeal” and not performance, leadership, intellect, and management indicators.

Shouldn’t the panel have maybe discussed, instead of “sexual appeal”, the (IMO) strange notion of Gov. Palin calling herself a “lame duck” being the reason for her resignation after only 2.5 years of a 4 year first term, that status having been arrived at only by her specific resignation (didn’t lose a reelection bid, and wasn’t approaching term limits). Seems easy to assert a needed resignation due to “lame duck” issues when the political leader is the one proactively deciding to become the “lame duck”.

“Sexual appeal” may be a needed requirement for cable news/MSM, but it should have nothing to do with political leadership capacity.

Another thing that needs to be mentioned is that Regressives seem to like to have sterotypical characters representing the minorities in their party. My sister made a point of saying, "Women would not vote for her becuase of her looks."
