Sarah Palin Vs. That Crazy Santa Cruz Lady (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 8/27/09 Updated: 5/25/11

Sarah Palin resigned yesterday and the whole comedy world wept at the loss. Her farewell speech was yet another example of her nonsensical rambling and unparalleled disregard for syntax. The only person who can compete with her is a woman we were introduced to recently via a 2008 Santa Cruz City Council meeting at which she discussed East Coast slavery and being rich in slikworms. Here's a quick comparison--no, call it an in depth study--we at HuffPost Comedy have put together in an effort to answer the age old question: Is anyone worse at public speaking than Sarah Palin?

She is childlike and very sweet. She would not however understand your criteria for her to speak. She makes perfect sense in her mind. We all do though, don't we? ronee

This "crazy lady" has a name...she is my friend, and I hope she never sees this. It is hurtful and unkind. She was trying her best to express herself and hang on. She is not unlike the hundreds of other struggling people in our community of Santa Cruz. Compassion? This is a sad commentary on what we think is funny. ronee.

Perhaps your friend should invest in some public speaking classes and learn a little about the topics she wishes to express her opinion on before stepping up to a podium. Truth be told, your friend rambled like an idiot in a public forum; she's getting what she deserves for going to the microphone unprepared and uninformed.

"We need the food because it's food and stuff"? "Food is free"? "The land is free"? "On the East coast, they have slaves and believe in slavery"? Come, now. Her little speech was not only unhelpful to the others struggling, but the sheer amount of ignorance she spouted reflects badly on your community. Your friend deserves to be ridiculed.

If she sees this, I hope she learns something from it. I hope she learns that, when in public, it is not prudent to say whatever words come to your head in whatever order they arrive. If she is going to make a habit of participating in local government, I hope she decides to read and learn before attempting to influence legislation, and I hope she finds a course or book on effective public speaking. I hope she realizes that, in order to help a struggling community, one must learn about the situation and the problem far beyond "food is good because it's food and stuff".

At long last, someone has opened the door, and of all people it is one of Palin’s most drooling admirers, Pat Buchanan, bless his little conservative heart! Thanks Uncle Pat! He ranks right up there with Grandpa Heath for telling the reporter about the water breaking in Texas. A big oops!

Pat Buchanan Outs Sarah Palin on Hardball:

It should make people angry at MSM (main stream media corporations, not blogs) for covering up for Palin all this time. No TV coverage and nothing in newspapers for the general public to at least be made aware of the incredibly poor judgment this woman made to cover up what she felt was politically embarrassing. I had no idea about this until sometime well after the election.

I'd heard about her water breaking in Texas pretty early on.... during the campaign. when it broke, she hopped on an 8 hour flight back to Alaska, jeopardizing her already high risk pregnancy. Think what you will, but does that behavior show that she cared for her high risk child she was carrying? Is that the behavior of someone able to make rational decisions for her state, much less her country? Irrational, erratic, and irresponsible.

I was rummaging around my PC today and came across a transcript of Palin's nomination speech (complete with the phontic spelling of nuclear as new-clear) and realized that it actually was a well-written speech by a talented speechwriter, Matthew Scully.

There were some colorfui passages in there - very descriptive.

But its obvious that Mr. Scully has moved on and Sarah can't let go. Her speech rambled on and on and on and on and on and...

I just seemed to me that she's trying to mimic that eloquence but doesn't have the first clue how to do it. And so you end up with THAT crap.

As I recall, she regressed to the Bush pronunciation of nuclear (new Q Ler).

This is amazing. The perfect running mate for Sarah in 2012. I can't wait.

And she could have been a heartbeat away from the presidency! Wow, America. You make us all laugh out loud. Thanks. Keep them coming. I see Arnie's coming to the end of his tenure. Who next to govern the Californian state? Hmm... I'd like it to be Charlie Sheen. Or maybe Jean-Claude Van Damme?

Hey, a lot of these folks came from your neck of the woods hundreds of years ago. You can thank America for taking them off your hands. Family is family though! Don't brag too much.

ow! ow! ow! ow! ow! I am bleeding from my ears - might be a cerebral hemmorage. Thank goodness for the Shatner remix!

I am rooting for a Shatner/Palin party in 2012. Shatner would have to be president since he would have to make the big speeches.
