I got a call on this yesterday from their automated pollster and the way the question was asked TOTALLY swayed the results - this was not a fair question.
It said WALMART wanted to build a store on 83rd street (?) and wanted us to vote yes or no on that.
They said people for the store wanted more jobs in the area and people against thought there was enough stores and jobs. TOTALLY messing the results.
It didn's say - "People against things walmart should unionize their employees and think Walmart puts small businesses out of business"
The results would have been different.
This is a perfect example of why chicago shouldn't host the olympics. The unions have such a strong hold on the city. You must deal with the unions to get anything done. Many conventions have moved to Las Vegas and Atlanta because it is cheaper to produce your convention in those places.
Daley can't even control the unions in order to build one Wal-Mart. How is he going to keep costs down when building an Olympic city?

Have you ever tried plugging in a powerstrip at McCormick Place - Shesh -
You really think Las Vegas isn't a union town?
A Chamber of Commerce poll?
That wouldn't be slanted, would it?
weird, i was just auto-called with this poll this morning. sure, if the folks on the south side want it, then the mayor shouldn't stand in the way.
