Donald Trump Warns OPEC Will "Suck The Blood Out Of Any Recovery" By Raising Oil Prices (VIDEO)

What's Your Reaction?

Donald Trump offered some words of warning this morning regarding any potential economic recovery in America. Trump is concerned that, as the nation continues to back away from the edge of the cliff, OPEC will begin to raise oil prices, "suck[ing] the blood out of any recovery":

The biggest problem is going to be as we recover, as we get better, OPEC, the oil-producing nations, are going to be raising oil prices and they will suck the blood out of any recovery and therefore the recovery is not going to be great. So unless something is done about OPEC, there is not going to be a great recovery, in my opinion.

but why blame OPEC, when we have our own zombie banks with subdivisions speculating (ie, gambling up prices) on oil here at home?

supply and demand have left - the - building.

and you get to pay quintuple - once for the oil, again for the soldiers to secure it, third for the terrorism it funds, fourth for the environmental and health care costs, and finally yet for these domestic and off-shore pirates/casino operators who trade it like corn and pork bellies.

this one in connecticut wants another $100 million for such efforts in 2008.

Also, get our cities no longer gas dependent... if golf courses can do it.. think about it...

They are living in lavish life style at our expense... We need Americans to live like what we deserve...

Does this guy have anything relevant to say? It was not OPEC that caused our gas prices to rise last summer, it was wall street speculators. I say Palin/Trump 2012. These two are made for each other.

Speculators didn't cause gas prices to go up. Speculators went long gasoline futures last year for very good reason. It's not like corporations, hundreds of thousands of individual investors, pensions funds, hedge funds, and other just all decided at the same to go long gasoline futures. They did so because of very tight global spare capacity, federal reserve dramatically reducing interest rates and increasing money supply, escalating US govt debt, deteriorating financial system and a weak equity market, global political tensions, etc. etc. All those are the "cause" of increasing gas prices. Speculation was merely the result.

"unless something is done about OPEC"

there is nothing to do abut OPEC , it is an external factor.

it should have been : "unless we do something about american consumption of fossil fuel...."

you do not solve the problem by always blaming the others.

blame yourself to build hummers guzzling 3000 millions gallons per mile..... (maybe not as much ....)
and by building crappy houses with absolutely no insulation.

instead of trying to go to the moon, launch a program involving industries and architects to build the most efficient houses of the future

trump is completely irrelevant...

Come on guys, how quickly you forget...It was manipulation by goldman and morgan stanley etc, that sucked the blood out of the economy last year. They bought it and parked it in oil tankers off shore. Sounds preposterous does it not?

That's just one article, there are many more and none refuted.

And guess who is behind the push to centralize Big Solar in our wilderness instead of us putting it on our own roofs? CHEVRON, BP, GOLDMAN SACHS AND FRIENDS.

If you are uninformed enough to fall for the greenwashing by Sierra Club, NRDC, Wilderness Society and other dummies pushing for wholesale wilderness slaughter to enrich Big Energy (via Big Wind, Big Solar, and Big Transmission), all you need to do is FOLLOW THE MONEY. These mercenaries are the owners/investors of almost all the Big Solar industrial power plants and they will do the SAME THING with "carbon trading" and "renewable energy" they did with Oil, Gas, Derivatives and other investments - BLEED US DRY.

Our only hope for an affordable energy future that does not destroy our open spaces and leave us vulnerable to cyber attacks, pricing and supply manipulations and endless blackouts is to get loans and feed in tariffs so that WE can generate clean, affordable solar power and microwind on our own roofs, and improve the energy efficiency of our homes and businesses.

Not all millionaires are the same. Trump made his money in real estate. That doesn't make him an economic expert!

I agree Donald! OPEC wont be kind to our fragile eco. when we begin to recover. The price of oil knocked the socks off us in 08, we're looking for a matching pair right now. I pray we can come to some agreement with them, so that recovery wont have this dark cloud, pressing in.

The US economy was fine until the financial sector went belly up because of mortgages and derivatives thereof. The price of oil had not much to do with anything, except, of course, that it's a convenient vehicle to forget what, or better who, caused the events in the financial sector. It's always so easy to blame someone else when the evidence points to oneself.

Wall Street currently does as much or more to set oil prices as OPEC. OPEC can manipulate supply but the last spike actually occurred when supply was stable and demand was weakening. Speculation in the commodities market caused the spike.
