William Shatner Makes Palin's Speech Into Poetry (VIDEO)

Is Sarah Palin secretly a beat poet? Do her words make little to no sense because she is so immersed in language and lyrics that she operates on a plane we cannot grasp? We sincerely doubt it, but that was the implication last night as William Shatner appeared on the "Tonight Show" and read Sarah's resignation speech in his typical Shatner way, with all the lilting and soft drum beats we've come to expect. It was quite magical.

What a load of bombastic fluff. Palin's speeches are ridiculous­, but I must admit, Shatner does them more justice than they deserve... and he reads them well!

I have never been a fan of Shatner, and I don't think Letterman is all that funny. But this skit was over the top. It raised my opinion of both of them. Elegant. I laughed so hard my eyes leaked.

ROFL - But what makes this even funnier was for me to listen and realize that if this were not Palin's words, that if this were presented in a poetry reading without the Palin connection­, I can imagine this reading being regarded with genuine and enthusiast­ic oohs and ahs.
