Aww, first they went to McDonald's, and now Toys "R" Us! Could this famous family be any more normal?

Earlier on Tuesday, we snapped these pix of Angelina, Shiloh and Zahara leaving the toy superstore in Burbank after spending over an hour inside! It seems the girls purchased a whole shopping cart full of goodies

Wait a minute, Its not about judgeing people on how they look, as a single parent myself with a daughter I would NEVER go out of the house and my childs hair is standing on top of her head and I would hope that, that carried on thru her teenage years and when she gets grown. You should always want you and your children to be well groomed and if not what are you teahing them NOTHING, especially little girls, come on people, Its a woman that works with me right now and she does not even have common sense why would you as a woman want to come out of the house not looking decent and appropriate, her hair is a mess everyday and also her atire but I attribute that to her upbringing as well, and her children look a mess to and now they are grown.

worry less about what you look like and more about your writing skills. What are you trying to say?

This hair controversy says a great deal about our society in many ways--race, self-esteem and ridculousness. First and foremost, what we know about the family is very little: Making assumptions about hair is silly when what is most important is her happiness, plain and simple. Also, young girls, of all ages and all ethnicities are being judged (or their mother's are), emphasizing that what matters most about women is the way they look. For very liberal people, not only are the judgments unfair, they are unwarranted. It is time to take a good look in the mirror and find out what it is about you that makes you feel so much hate towards a woman who is living her life and loving her children. As for race, if we want our children to move us forward, then as adults, we need to stop pushing our own biases on them. I am quite certain that other 4 year old girls couldn't care less what her hair looks like; they care that she is funny and nice. Let our children lead. Let them decide how they want to live. And let us all take care of our children, regardless of race, religion or social status.

Few celebrities stir as much discourse as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Mr. Pitt was responsible for wordy postings on religion recently and now Miss Jolie has brought forth a discussion on African/American hairstyles. Not knowing a thing regarding the subject, I will just keep my peace by saying the children are very cute. I hoped they enjoyed their excursion.

There couldn't be this many posts on the fact that Jolie walked to the car with her kids, right? That in itself is pretty boring. Most of the photo ops with these celebrities doing nothing but "everyday" stuff are snooze-worthy. I like the actors better who don't feel the need to do these kinds of photo ops, who are known and respected for their acting abilities. The hair commentary has actually been pretty interesting to read, though. Just like Pitt's previous musings on religion. His thoughts weren't nearly as interesting to read as the debate that ensued.

I completely agree with you, TigersEye. Truly talented actors, like KateWinslet or CateBlanchett, never have the need to sell their children's privacy to stay in the public eye. The public knows nothing or very little about them, as it should be.

I also agree that the tangential posts were the most interesting part!

I see that there are many hair experts hair who can tell exactly what's going on with this childs hair from a photo, the silly comments that her parents should actually pay someone to come in and style a FOUR year olds head so she can go to Toys R Us and McDonald's. We have people judging and acting like an authority about a family they don't even know, the ones who project their own hair/ self esteem issues onto a strangers child. Or my favorite, the ridiculous and baseless yelping about abuse and neglect. I guess we're all perfect parents who have our kids under absolute control ( yeah right) and they go out looking and behaving perfectly at all times. We are a judgemental bunch, that's for sure.

Every time this little girl is photographed her hair looks like this. If it was just one time, that's one thing...but every time? Come on!

Have you noticed that the girls wear their brothers hand me downs? That Shiloh doesn have her hair all styled either? They don't see to be that concerned with making these children overly concernted with their appearance. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned here.

So is this outing with Jolie and her girls just meant to be an ad for McDonald's and Toys "R" Us? If true, then I think even less of AJ than I did before.

Yup. Many celebrities have under the table endorsement deals with retailers, restaurants or clubs. It's considered beneath many stars to endorse certain products so this is the way its done: celebrity shows up at store, leaves with bag in hand, makes sure to alert the paps. The photos are guaranteed to be all over the internet and it's the best kind or endorsement, i.e., one that seems unstaged. The store then does not have to pay for recurring costs and hits. It works quite well for everyone. That is why someone like Jolie would be willing to be seen at a restaurant considered so unhealthy and ungreen....for the other green stuff.

"Aww, first they went to McDonald's, and now Toys "R" Us! Could this famous family be any more normal?"

Yeah, everytime I go on a shopping outing with kids in tow, a nice employee pushes my cart, unloads it for me in my trunk, and then I sit quietly in the passsenger seat, waiting to be driven home.
These people have tons of money, do what pleases them, that's OK.But can we stop marvelling at their every move? They're not average, stop telling us they are. The "just like us " act is tiring.

And I'm not dissing Ms Jolie here.Just the "journalist" (or enthusiastic fan).

The sentence after describing their normalcy: "Earlier on Tuesday, we snapped these pix of Angelina, Shiloh and Zahara leaving the toy superstore in Burbank after spending over an hour inside!"

Normal people aren't followed around by paparazzi, either.

And normal people don't tip off the paparazzi where they are going or where they will be!
