I don't even understand the "Gay Olympics". Gay athletes participate in the real olympics...what's the point of a sporting even catering to a specific sexual orientation?

The guys that did this are trying to terrorize the gay community therefore they are terrorists

I'm almost more upset by the horrible reporting in the article. It doesn't mention the location of the games until the end of the second paragraph, and then only incidentally.

Why are the Danish police and seemingly all of Europe SUCH COWARDS.

In America these terrorists would be shot dead, and if not shot dead would be in jail for at least 25 years.

I love Europe, and I love their policies except when it comes to law enforcement.

In their country, I could walk up to someone and shoot them in the head and get only 25 years.

Let me relay a story relayed to me by a friend. He went to a soccer match between Germany and England. And one of the taunting chants of the English fans was "Who won the war? Stand up!" and every English fan would stand up on the English side of the field. This continued throughout the match and scuffles went on outside the stadium.

So let's not jump to immediate conclusion that the two incidences were related, yet, please?

dont project into agressors that they desire the victim. homophobes are trained from family to church to hate and express it onto whose deseve it.

remeber what pope pius said in the 70ties,

"homosexuals deserve all the agression they provoque"

How repressed must your own homosexuality be to commit an act like this?

Homophobia is more simple than you think though. Nationalism has nothing to do with beatings and bombings where Gays are targeted. GAY is not a country. Britain, Germany, Hungary, Russia etc have had their share of all this. Here are some defintiions of nationalism you should take into condideration before accusing Gays of being behind these beatijngs and bombings:

1. Patriotism: love of country and willingness to sacrifice for it
2. The doctrine that your national culture and interests are superior to any other
3. The aspiration for national independence felt by people under foreign domination
4. The doctrine that nations should act independently (rather than collectively) to attain their goals

The homphobic thugs who commited these bombings have little interest in nationalism. They care only to terriorize those they feel superior too and are no better than common criminals or the KKK or any other white supremecist group in this country. It has nothing to do with pride of flag and country because if it was, these acts do everything they can to undermine that pride. Nationalism is usually akin to the second definition of nationalism above where superiority over others is the main reason d'etra and is played out in the most horrible ways as happened prior to and during WWII ans was the main reason for WWI as well. Even the Holocaust had little to do with nationalism. Nationalism was just an excuse to mask the extinction of Jews, Gypsies and Gays etc.

In 1972, when Israeli athletes were the target at the Munich Olympics, I was first introduced to the word "terrorist". Since then, it's usage has increased.

I guess there's just no terrorizing gays. There are not anti-gay terrorists, just anti-gay suspects.

One of the problems is the reporting behind this story. They talk about a "explosive device", which could mean anything from a fire cracker to a flare to a bomb. If it was a fire cracker or a flare that was tossed over the fence, then this could well have been more a case of Nationalism gone wrong. Nationalism is rampant in Europe, especially at football matches and other sporting events, and these kinds of things happen regularly. There is no definitive proof that the fight in the bar the night before is related to the "explosive device", so I think people need to reserve judgment whether this was a case of homophobia or just alcohol fueled stupidity.

This is NOTHING compared to what I expect to see next year at The World Cup in South Africa, and we know that has nothing to do with homophobia. That will be blatant ignorant racism

The guy's hand had shrapnel in it! That was no firecracker or flare. Firecrackers and flares are just as imaginary as your saying this had to do with nationalism.

My bad. I thought it was in Seattle. Same problem though. A terrorist attack and no MSM coverage.

So, there is a terrorist bombing in Seattle and the MSM isn't covering it. Apparently it isn't newsworthy because these are "good Christian" terrorists and wanting to attend or participate in a sporting event without being blown up is just more "special treatment" the gay commmunity wants. I'm so disgusted and fed up I don't even know what to say anymore.

You mentioned Christians too...there was nothing in the article about that either. Knee jerk blogging just makes you look stupid. Read the article next time...before exercising your biased fingers...

Spoken like a good Christian.

These actions are the direct result of the right wing fomenting hatred and fanning the flames of violence. We are devolving into a society that doesn't tolerate "other" for any reason.

This is NOT what Christianity is about, despite the attempt to reinterpret the bible.

PEACE

This has nothing to do (that we know) with Americans, other than the guy that was injured. This was in DENMARK. There was NO mention of Christians either.

READ THE ARTICLES BEFORE COMMENTING...it makes you look better when you are backed by the facts presented rather than biased ignorance...
