David Shuster Flatly Denies Bald Spot Meltdown: "A Complete And Utter Fabrication"

David Shuster flatly denies the Page Six item alleging that he "went crazy" after the "Countdown" camera crew filmed him from behind and exposed his bald spot.

Over e-mail from California, where he is vacationing, Shuster said, "Never in my career have I ever been a diva or complained about how I've been shot or framed" and called the Page Six story a "complete and utter fabrication."

"I'm the guy who is happy to do anything and NEVER complains, ever," he said.

He added, "I have no issues with my hair or the spot on my head where I lack some."

His full e-mail is printed below, with his permission:

Danny,

Never in my career have I ever been a diva or complained about how I've been shot or framed. Ask any director or producer who has actually ever worked with me. I'm the guy who is happy to do anything and NEVER complains, ever.

The ny post/page 6 allegation is a complete and utter fabrication. I have no issues with my hair or the spot on my head where I lack some. I have never complained or been concerned about being shot from behind. (We use the plasma shot nearly every show.)And, I don't "go crazy" or have "meltdowns" over anything.

I can't even think of any incident in recent weeks where I complained about anything and might have been misconstrued.

I can easily imagine however, why the ny post would make things up out of whole cloth. But, I'll leave that story to you.

Please give my denial as much space on huffpost as you gave to page 6.

David Shuster is my Favorite on MSNBC - I was crushed when 1600 Pennsylvania Ave was cancelled. He seemed to really enjoy doing that show and I love when he goes 'free form' - he's got a quick mind and actually listens to what people are saying - he's not like the other David (Gregory) who is busy thinking about what he's going to say next and completely misses something absurd that his guest may say. Shuster Rocks!!! I will watch ANYTHING he is hosting.

David Shuster is a cutie, flaws and all. I love the way his nostrils flare as he speaks. He is a total pro who has remained calm under pressure, especially when he's been the object of attacks against him. This is a mean country we live in. Everyone is subject to faux umbrage and finger-pointing and insults. I'm so tired of it. The news media is a sick joke, especially on television. I hope Shuster knows that he is appreciated. It's a tough medium in a tough business, and he has a lot of dignity and class... and he's cute.

I love him, but they need some diversity over there, maybe a someone of another race, I don't care which, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Indian American, or an African American. There is a lot of talent out there and I hope he gets his own show, but come on MSNBC no matter how good vanilla is, sometimes you want another flavor.

I LOVE David Shuster...apologies to his wife...he's the best. He's funny and definitely the "utility player" of MSNBC. He and Tamryn riff well off of each other, but I do miss him running his own show...I like to think that it's his big brain pushing some of that hair aside.
