- This is beyond the pale. I'm beginning to think that it would be safer for people in the U.K. and for us here in Australia, if we distance ourselves from America's ceaseless wars of agression and their self-interested international meddling.

These wars have nothing to do with fighting international terrorism, but have everything to do with comandeering middle eastern oil for American oil companies. Stay classy America.

You may not want to know who we outsourced some of the torture to. That's the big problem.

Just as I had predicted. And while she was giving a speech at the Hague a while back, I guarantee you she sternly warned Spain to give up trying to investigate "Bush's Six" crimes too. What more proof do you need that Barack Obama (with the help of the Bush's BFF- the Clintons) is protecting the previous administration from war crimes and crimes against humanity. Actively protecting war criminals is a crime in and of itself. You better let Eric do his job, President Obama, or I'm going to push that he investigates you and Hillary, also. Honor our treaties per Article Six of the Constitution. NOW.

Well we certainly can't have those poor terrorists being uncomfortable now can we? What's a few thousand American lives when the terrorists aren't being treated like kings?

Please spare me you martyrdom! It is a bogus claim that any lives were saved through torture.

They should have a test to see if you are intelligent enough to post here. I wouldn't be addressing your inanity right now.

But hey, at least they get free health care after being tortured.

BHO is one smooth-talking operator
who said all of the right things to get the job,
accumulated a few credentials,
and has found it
uncomfortable to deliver
on the promises. Why?

Americans come up on the short end, again.

She sounding more like Cheney these days. She is separating herself from Obama's ideology in a drive to kick up her campaign for 2012.

What are you talking about? In her lengthy MTP interview, she pretty much was lock-and-step with the Obama ideology and even said that there's not daylight between them. And, besides, do you really think that she can go out and make such a statement to the Brits without the assent and approval of the White House?

You best believe the Clinton's influence Barack's decision to protect Bush. The Bush's and the Clinton's are allies in a corporate sort of way. The only reason Barack won was to making the Faustian bargain of having her along for the ride (as SOS with all of her corrupted retreads appointed to other high offices). The Clinton's are all about the money and power and are the ultimate DINO's. Worse than rethugs, actually.

Our government continues to disappoint. Where's the antiseptic sunlight? Let's get it all out. Everything. No matter how shameful it is to us as a nation. Especially if it is shameful. That's an example to the world. If we have to hear this crap about America being the shining city on a hill, then we'd better shine. And on a hill you are prominent and can be easily seen. You don't go to hide on a hill. You hide under a rock or behind something, like the law. I'm against a little transparency. The argument is always made that disclosure will jeopardize national security, therefore, it should not be made. How will it jeopardize national security? I HATE the national security argument. It is the surest way for us to have violated rights for which we will have no remedies. Yes, we must be concerned about national security, but then I believe the material should be screened by a judge to determine whether it is really about national security or something else masquerading as that. And if one judge determines that it's a matter of national security, then that judge's decision should be appealable so that he or she can be checked, and the next judge's decision should be appealable also, right up to the Supreme Court. If nine judges agree there, I can accept that, even if I might not like it still.

"Security" concerns could likely mean that the crimes are so outrageous that people would seek revenge.
If this is the case, then wouldn't it be better for our security, that the information about the autrocities come out in the prosecution of the criminals, so that those who would feel the need to avenge these wrongs would at least see that our society is just as outraged, and actually doing something about it?
Isn't the implication of concealment an acknowledgement of guilt. In the long run, won't concealment actually increase the outrage?
Why do HRC and BHO think this is the best course? There must be some reason I can't gather (whether I would agree with it or not is a different issue.) Does anyone have any ideas of reasons, other than the old Bushish polarity of good and evil in people?
