Michele Bachmann's Strawberry Shortcake Look: Too Casual For The Capitol? (VIDEO, POLL)

As Politico's Anne Schroeder Mullins points out, when Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) took the House floor yesterday to make her statement on Health Care Reform, she also made a sartorial statement with her Strawberry Shortcake ensemble: a t-shirt and long skirt -- and neck-to-toe pink. We know it's hot out and nearing vacation time, but was Bachmann's casual clothing appropriate for The Hill?

The dress isn't the problem, it's whose wearing it. She wouldn't last a month campaigning in my state and district, and I live in district that has been Republican for many years, we just don't like weird show boaters.

Give me a break! We are recklessly spending TRLLIONS of our GRANDKIDS money and someone has enough spare time on their hands to worry some Congresswomen did not dress up for the day? If this had been someone supporting the liberal agenda, it would not have been mentioned!

I too was not impressed with her dress but guess what, Grandma Nancy will win no contests, as the same for Boxer, Feinstein, Murray, Cantwell, and many others. Not to mention the mental condition of some of those who should have retired decades back, like Kennedy, Strom Thurman (rest his sole).....­...

Who ever is worried about this trivia needs a real, honest job, one which contributes in a postive manner to society.

Have we sunk so low in our democracy that what a person wears has more relevance than the content of their message? Here is an elected official presenting her argument about something so important as healthcare and people have nothing else to do but talk about what she is wearing!
