Dems Threaten Baucus: We Could Take Away Your Gavel

In an apparent warning to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), some liberal Democrats have suggested a secret-ballot vote every two years on whether or not to strip committee chairmen of their gavels.

Get him out of the seat of power. He does not deserve a leadership position in the government that is to bring change to Washington. He is entrenched in the muck. The Dems need leadership in Washington, and the people sent a very clear message to that affect in November 2008.

It's a great idea, but Dems probably don't have the votes to remove him from the chair...also...voting every 2 years means that he will still be around for the remainder of this year and into next...where his damage is already being done.

This is amazing...at the moment, this is apparently a Democrats worst nightmare:

ONE SINGLE SENATOR who is seemingly so empowered and so willing to KILL any healthcare legislation solely at the behest of the insurance industry...is in the potential position to bring down the entire party and do serious, serious damage to the administration....

and as of today, it appears that there has been little or no pressure from the party to get this guy to step in line.

I mean, seriously...would a republican Finance chair (say Olympia Snowe, for example) be doing any WORSE a job than he is doing right now....?????

This isn't right.. Being in this for the money Baucus is collecting from the medical industry is just plain wrong. He has to be told that he's out of line. He should recuse himself, or someone should remove him. It's completely immoral.

Americans are hurting. Well over 50Million have no access to health care, and Baucus is making deals with the devil.

The President talks about the public option, but he has at least twice sent Rahm Emmanuel to Congress to tell them he doesn't really mean it.
