Queens Drunk Driver Tries To Drive Burning Car (Video)

Footage of a drunk driver unsuccessfully trying to put out a car fire only to then climb back behind the wheel will be included in a new show on truTV, according to The Village Voice.

Roommates Rob Boudon and Jill Hanner were at home in Astoria when a drunk driver drove his SUV into the area behind their apartment and began "ramming it into piles of wood and metal."

From the Voice:

The two rolled footage on the inferno one late night in April. According to Hanner, a loud bang brought the two running to a window. "I was so freaked out," recalls Hanner, "I thought someone was dead."

The video has to be seen to be believed.

People Trapped in Non-burning Home surrounded by 2-story impenetrable barbed wire fence video a drunken man wrestling with his burning car. Average Citizen stops to help drunken man while completely ignoring the screams and pleadings of the trapped videographers.

gotta love that last second shot-of-adrenalin sheepish canter when the drunk realizes the cops have arrived. that's classic. one second he's shambling around in a daze and then he "makes a break" with all the grace of a man with his shoelaces tied together and his pants over his head. seriously, i rewound that segment five times.
