Yellow Rat Snake Found In New Jersey
LITTLE SILVER, NJ (AP) -- Police are trying to determine how a snake common to southern states ended up in a New Jersey.
Police in Little Silver helped catch the 5- to 6-foot yellow rat snake on Wednesday.
The snake is not venomous and is often found in Florida, and along the Atlantic coast from North Carolina to Georgia.
Police are trying to determine if the snake was a pet that escaped or if its owner released it.
