Fox and G.E. Reach Deal to End O'Reilly-Olbermann Feud

For years Keith Olbermann of MSNBC had savaged his prime-time nemesis Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel and accused Fox of journalistic malpractice almost nightly. Mr. O'Reilly in turn criticized Mr. Olbermann's bosses and led an exceptional campaign against General Electric, the parent company of MSNBC.

Hey Rupert and Immelt sell off your news divisions and make em non profit, then they could something like really really credible journalism and compete on that basis, that's what viewers would like.....but of course you would never think 'outta the box', too much money dangling in front of you.

I have been so fraustrated with TV lately. It's as if we are not being told what we need to know. I am so grateful for public TV. But the misinformation that is coming out of all the news stories on nearly all the stations is ridiculous. Even on stations like MSNBC, (which is the only station I prefer to watch on cable for politics) more time is spent alerting us to the misinformation than should be.

I have began to wonder if all the stations are ran by the same people or maybe they have some sort of deal to not get at the heart of real arguments. Why is it that on the weekend when most people gather around their TV sets. MSNBC and has no politics and serious issues at all. CNN is doing reruns of their stories or reporting as little real issues as possible. But FOX has all weekend to spew their warped views and politics issues. And then everyone is surprised during the week when misinformation and conspiracy theories rule the airwaves and all other channels have to talk about all that misinformation again and again, just to let us know how wrong it is.

This should confirm for everyone the demise of the 4th estate, it is controlled by media conglomerates only concerned with ad revenue and bottom line. Keith was getting under Bill's skin and Fox News went after GE.

My guess is Fox warned GE they wouldn't accept any ads from GE operations.
