I Like ItI Don’t Like It

What if the movie "Ghostbusters" had been shot in 1954 instead of 1984? That's what curious YouTuber whoiseyevan wanted to find out. The writer/filmmaker is "trying to get his big break" by showing off his editing skills on the Web, and they are in no way shabby. He took clips from "The Three Stooges," "Scared Stiff," "Ghost Breakers," "Topper Takes a Trip," "Abbott and Costello meet the Invisible Man," "The Day the Earth Stood Still," and more, and cut them together to make an independent trailer for a movie that doesn't exist. It perfectly captures the tone of the era, and the fun of the film.

A wonderful collection of scenes from different movies artistically knit together to make a 1950's style movie trailer for a 1984 movie.

When I was really young, I would often spend the day at a woman's house and watch the "Ghostbusters" cartoon series.

When I was 7, I noticed that my parents had a video called "Ghostbusters". I assumed that it was the cartoon, so I watched it. It scared the hell out of me. The first thing that threw me off was that it was black and white, and that it clearly wasn't a cartoon. Then the lion statue outside the library threw me off further. After the woman got scared in the library, I could only interpret the movie as a horror flick. I interpreted nothing comedic. After it was done, I never wanted to watch it again.

When I was 9, I watched it and thought that it was one of the funniest movies that I had ever seen. Naturally, I now understood that it was a comedy (and I interpreted Rick Moranis's character).

As for the black and white, my parents had recorded it off the TV and it somehow came out black and white on the tape. They always say that the tape must have been haunted.

So this ghost appears off in a distance.

Bob Hope says, she's only trying to scare us.
Unknown black man says, well she's wasting her time because we're already scared.
ROFLMBAO!

Indeed. Great icon, by the way. I'm ancient enough to remember that issue of National Lampoon - "Buy this magazine or we'll shoot this dog." The inside cover of the next issue had a small note that said "We shot the dog anyway."
