At least, they're not trying to escape the Secret Service to party and later, get arrested for underage drinking. The Obamas might as well be the standard for how to raise kids in the public eye compared to the last parents in office.
They are wonderfull little girls. Hopefully they don't get pregant because Barry wouldn't want them "punished with a baby".

The Obamas would be criticized if they DIDN'T take advantage of many of these same opportunities to enhance their daughters' experience during this time of their lives. These are lovely girls, being raised by loving & responsible parents in one of the most unique of circumstances. I congratulate the President & Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Robinson for doing a great job!
This is a wonderful extended family with a lot of love and quality attention for the girls. Any good parent would avail of all opportunities to educate their children and help them learn life lessons. Barack and Michelle Obama are role models for all families.
Wow!Just read some of these blogs.These are children.They have nothing at all to do with anything political.Rep or Dem kids should be kept out of politics.Nothing is their fault.

If they had not taken the girls with them, Michelle would have been criticized for being a negligent mother and for partying on the taxpayers' dime. Nothing the President or Mrs. Obama do will please some of the fringe.
If the President produced a money tree to fix the mess we are in, someone wouuld find a way to complain. I
am ashamed sometimes to be white. We have an intelligent man in the White House and a family that lives the values so treasured by the Right (but not lived by the Right) and all they do is scream about a birth certificate that has been produced many, many times.
The only explanation is rac ism. And I am not saying that you are racist if you disagree with the President or his policies, I am speaking of a specific group, that we all know and despise.
Thanks for your post. As we all know, racism is alive and well, but no one can really negate the fact that the Obamas are wonderful parents. Even if he isn't re-elected (and I'm going to work very hard to make sure he is) he will always have a wonderful and caring family. Can't say that for a lot of wingnuts.
Look the folks were going to Europe and Africa and the Russia anyway, what were they to tell the kids, they have to stay home with Grandma? I traveled when I was a kid in the summer.

We are not putting up with these rethugs attacking President Obama's children because they travel with their parents this summer when it has been done for centuries this way. We have recessions and economic down turns before but now we have ignorant congressman who have no shame attacking this family unchallenged for being good parents to their children.
Presidential children always travel with their parents and these children are underage young girls so what do you want them to do with these children when they have to go on the world stage. The fact that this type report is followed up by reporters is the sad aspect of the entire thing. I have already given Senator Gras sley as much **it as he can eat. I will back financially and other wise whoever run against him in 2010.
the difference is that the rethug presidents came from old money and owned entire estates where they took their children. Also, there was less curiosity. Can you imagine W wanting to show his girls the sights? I can't.

Anyone criticizing the fact that the family of the Most Powerful Leader in the World should cut coupons and cut out luxury items from his life is just plain wrong. Economic issues or not. President Obama has the right as leader to have his family be with him whenever and wherever that might be. When they all show up together it's the biggest show of American good will we can offer. There are no excuses to be made. No comparisons to be drawn. This is what our President is allowed to do.He lives life in a big way because that's what his job entails..our country and how it relates to the world. For all you with brain cell deficiency just keep your complaining to yourselves. He is doing his job the way it's suppose to be done. Responsibly.

The "prez" and his wife worked very hard to become as educated as they are and deserve the rewards of that work. If "an avg joe" had gotten the degrees and was as accomplished, that would be one thing. The Obamas have earned their positions in life and he is the leader of this country. They are not flamboyant people in the least.
average joe's don't live in mansions with servants, ss protection and private planes.
maybe we should tax the Bush estate until he shares it with all of us then.
This totally contradicts the Repubthugs and their "work hard and bootstraps" rhetoric. It's not like they were penniless when they came to the WH. What would they naysayers have them do with their children over the summer, send them to party in Mexico, do a little underage drinking? Leave those girls alone!
