The Plum Line:

Conservatives for Patients' Rights, the operation that's running a national campaign against a public health care option, is now publicly taking credit for helping gin up the sometimes-rowdy outbursts targeting House Dems at town hall meetings around the country, raising questions about their spontaneity.

CPR is the group headed by controversial former hospitals exec Rick Scott that's spending millions on ads attacking reform in all sorts of lurid ways, a campaign that's being handled by the same P.R. mavens behind the Swift Boat Vets.

I just went to their website and used their own letter against them. Here is what I sent from their own website to my congressional leaders and senators:

There are way to many opponents of something held near and dear to all Americans. The opportunity to get affordable healthcare at prices that don't bankrupt them when they have a catastrophic event. Costs to individuals and business alike are not sustainable and will eventually be only for people of substantial means. I say lets make a difference now with President Obama's plan so that millions who are not covered currently will have the coverage they deserve. The Conservatives for Patients Rights would like to thank you for this e-mail as I did not know they were saying yes to healthcare reform. The fear and intimidation set forth by these groups will not derail the wished of millions of Americans who are crying out for change and reform. The Healthcare industry and its lobbyist are running into what happens when people decide to fight back!!!
Sincerely

Conservatives for Patients' Rights

This is how ignorant the Americans that are working for RIck Scott and his ilk are- for them.

2009-The Wall Street Journal reported that Richard Scott, "the former chief executive of HCA Inc," had formed the non-profit organization Conservatives for Patients' Rights as part of a "lobbying campaign to derail or modify"

THURSDAY, JUNE 26, 2003; WWW.USDOJ.GOV;
HCA Inc. (formerly known as Columbia/HCA and HCA - The Healthcare Company)
LARGEST HEALTH CARE FRAUD CASE IN U.S. HISTORY SETTLED; HCA INVESTIGATION NETS RECORD TOTAL OF $1.7 BILLION
Note: Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) was acquired by Columbia in 1994.

In 1997, Rick Scott was terminated by Darla Moore. As part of Richard Scott's severance package from Columbia he was paid $5.13 million and given a five year consulting contract at $950,000 per year.

1997 + 5 = 2002

In 2002 FBI raided the offices of National Century Financial Enterprises in Dublin, Ohio

“This case is one of the largest corporate fraud investigations involving a privately held company headquartered in small town America,” said Assistant Director Kenneth W. Kaiser of the FBI Criminal Investigative Division.

In October 2008- Leo Wise, now at the OCE ---stated "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a case of staggering fraud," 'It is one of the largest frauds the FBI has ever investigated.

Guess where ALL of Richard Scott's & Richard Rainwater’s Columbia/ HCA and certain subsidiaries and joint ventures were?

National Century Financial Enterprises, Inc.! (NCFE).

Isn't this what Michael Moore does with his crappy movies?
05:10 PM on 08/05/2009
You lost me.. What's the Correlation? Michael Moore educates clueless individuals (some more than others, by the looks of your comments) on national emergency issues whereas these conservatives seek to maintain the same-old status-quo and derail this country for their own self-interest. Once again I'm missing the Correlation between the two.

Sam has no correlation, im not sure if he knows what that means. His job is to come here and just say some crap about barry, birth certificate, how michael moore is fat etc...... and his job is done. Idiots like Sam are example that we need a good education system, if one is properly educated it would be hard to take advantage of them like the right does.

Much like the carefully picked people for any of Bush's public meetings, these people are picked and paid by the insurance companys and big pharma to put all this propaganda out there. Once again, its the common American people that will have to pay unless we to something about these money grubbers. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, WE VOTED FOR CHANGE IN NOVEMBER, GIVE IT TO US OR GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY.

Isn't this somehow illegal?

This dude is a lobbyist trying to shout down everything which doesn't forward his agenda. Seems to me there are laws restricting what lobbyists are allowed to do, especially when it comes to inciting a riot (like what happened in Texass).

He who screams the loudest. When the anti-war movement had huge demonstrations protesting the run up to the Iraq war the networks would cover the story for a day if at all. When the anti health care crowd screams at the town hall meetings of congressman “Just Say No”, it is huge news and worthy of coverage hourly. Follow the money these folks screaming have another agenda. It is my opinion the Republican Party through there minions are organizing these folks to scream at these meetings; I do not believe this is an awaking of every day citizens. I remember when the anti war demonstrations where taking place the Bush people set up “Free Speech Zones”. Do you remember when the 2000 election was being contested in Palm Beach? Republican interns were flown in from Texas among other places to protest and protest they did by screaming in the halls outside the recounting rooms in Palm Beach. Guess what they stopped the recount and got W. in the white house. Follow the money who in there right mind wants health care to stay the way it is today? Health care insurance companies and there minions that’s who. Follow the money.

You people couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Those people who have organized the tea parties are people who don't give a damn whether you are democrat or repubican. We fear this government takeover. We are NOT a communist country, and communism and socialized healthcare has failed whereever it has been instituted. In every country that has subsidized healthcare, they save money by paying for performing abortions, cutting services to the elderly, and instituting and encouraging counseling for the elderly, advising that they medical community will not attempt to prolong the life of an elderly person who wishes to live, but they will be "kept comfortable" on drugs, until they die. The state...our government, will have the decision of who dies and who does not. In addition, the government will decide what happens to parts of your body when you die...you family won't and it won't matter if you didn't want to be cut up and given to other people.

To say this whole government...anti-American...beginnings of a dictatorship in our country..is orwellian, is an understatement.

Americans are forming their own protests...and believe me, if we are allowed to have a vote...and some of us are afraid that isn't going to happen...every Democrat and every Republican now in office will be unemployed. They are corrupt, and it has become obvious.

What could be more anti-democratic; more un-American, than preventing intelligent discussions of the issues? And, of course, the disruptors are easily identified -- they are the ones waving the little American flags. I think there should be strongly-enforced laws against disturbing the peace at town hall meetings.
11:01 PM on 08/06/2009
Because it is no longer a discussion. It is no longer a debate. Somehow the election became all one-sided...and the fact that there was voter fraud found within ACORN, has alot of thinking this last election was definitively fixed. Those of us with a dissenting opinion are being protrayed as "rabble rousers," no longer citizens of this United States with a right to dissent, or a right to a differing opinion. THIS is FRIGHTENING. And where will it end? When will it be the opinions of DEMOCRATS who are not permitted to dissent? And believe me...if this is permitted to happen...it will happen within their own ranks as well.
11:01 PM on 08/06/2009
And when the democrats were waving flags and disrupting town meetings during the elections...that was okay, right?
