Matthew Modine To Play Matthew Modine On Stage
NEW YORK — Talk about typecasting.
Matthew Modine (moh-DEEN') will portray a fictionalized version of himself in "Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas," opening Sept. 16 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Previews for the comedy by Blair Singer begin Sept. 8 for a limited run through Oct. 18.
The 50-year-old actor, who has appeared in such acclaimed films as "Birdy," "Married to the Mob" and "Full Metal Jacket," plays an actor eager to find a cause that can put him back in front of the public.
Also in the cast: Peri Gilpin, best know as Roz on television's "Frasier," and French Stewart, a regular on TV's "3rd Rock from the Sun."
