380 billion plastic bags are used in the United States annually. Globally, 500 billion plastic bags are consumed each year. Plastic bags are estimated to require 500 years to degrade and in a week's worth of trips to the grocery store, the average family collects 60 plastic bags.

I have a collection of re-usable shopping bags. Some are for grocery shopping and others for shopping at the malls, the outlets or my favorite discount stores. I feel really good when I use them and know I am doing my part to save the Earth for future generations. Plus, I think they are cool!
I just wish more people would do their part.

I agree I wish more people would use reusable bags they are great and such an easy way to make a big difference. My favorite are RuMe bags I take them everywhere!

Some great bags - especially #1 from pop tops and #3 from the juice boxes. But $190 and $58 for them?? Please. I'll stick with my re-usable bags for $1.50 from IKEA.
