Obama Aide Declares End to War on Terrorism

John Brennan picked a deeply symbolic day to end the "war on terrorism."

On August 6, 2001, Brennan, then a senior CIA official and now President Obama's assistant for counterterrorism and homeland security, "read warnings that Osama bin Laden was determined to strike inside the U.S., but our government was unable to prevent the worst terrorist attack in American history," he recalled to an audience Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. It was a reference to a CIA analysis, called a President's Daily Brief, that the 9/11 Commission uncovered as a key warning that an attack by al-Qaeda was likely.

This newly developed strategy will not work, it fails to understand what motivates a terrorist.
Clinton tried to buy off North Korea, they took all he gave and continued along their chosen way.

So shall it be in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza and all the hotspots around the world.
The war for hearts and minds cannot be won by foreign soldiers or diplomats, the war on terrorism shall be never ending, in one form or another!
We have our own Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf , stubbornly refusing to acknowledge facts, twenty years from now we shall still be bogged down in the quagmire that is global terrorism!

May look like an old jarhead but, he does have the right idea. The whole "war on terror" thing was so phony. Now if he can get Obama to trash the Dept. of Homeland Security, thus saving tons of money that we pay all of those Yale bums that Bush put in there

Declaring a "war on terrorism" was a brainless thing to do initially.

Because it lionises terrorists and paints them as being warriors in glorious combat, instead of the violent civilian-attacking criminals they should be described as.


Bush did this with Osama Bin Laden and his stupid "wanted dead or alive" pronouncements which basically portrayed Bin Laden was the arch-enemy or something to the US president.

Dealing with terrorism should be done quietly, not with loudmouth braggarts.

Brennan knew about an impending alQuaeda attack over a month before it happened.

Why didn't he scream from the rooftops ? Why didn't he do anything?
