Reuters MediaFile:

Let's stop whining and start having real conversations across party lines. Let's get online publishers, search engines, aggregators, ad networks, and self-publishers (bloggers) in a virtual room and determine how we can all get along. I don't believe any one of us should be the self-appointed Internet police; agreeing on a code of conduct and ethics is in everyone's best interests.

The AP is a far right outfit.

Conservatives will never stop whining. They just can't help themselves- it's like trying to get Rudy to stop talking about 9/11.

You cant get republicans to agree to that. Its the only way they can get voters.
Their entire platform is frauding the public into believing that Republicans are doing something good for them by making extreme insane profits for their corporate donors at the Literal Expense of consumers and exploiting americans and our environment for mass profiteering is ok and should be done and is in fact a Christian conservative value.

Murdoc is Austrailian. He just banks here to beat the taxes. The reason papers are floundering is that they've been strip mined by our corporate masters. Saddled with debt, stripped of assets, formerly profitable institutions are becoming anemic struggling to meet the blood demands of vampires like murdoc.

too bad Reuters doesn't allow embeds.

information is knowledge and knowledge is power - if they don't want to share here's a reminder, the wires and air are prime real estate that belong to the AMERICAN People. Now you can work something out or we can start charging you guys prime rate prices and have a couple of our own, People's Networks. Fact is you should have been paying for the use all along. Have you forgot, we don't charge you rent.

No one in the country is asking any of you to live in poverty are they? Is money the only thing driving you folks, nothing else?

Tell us how much is enough?

Look guys, especially AP, let's be clear you can't have it both ways.

Just don't forget in all your meetings and pow wows WE THE PEOPLE OWN THE WIRES and AIR.
and don't try anything funny to take them away from us.

Now, be American's if not try and at least be Better Human Beings.

Publishers have been ripping off writers for centuries, just as they have musicians. So they shouldn't cry about the public ripping THEM off. But--good reporters and writers should be paid. If everything's free, where's the law, forget about order? Moreover, where would the blogosphere get its facts if dedicated journalists weren't digging up the dirt? The solution is to read magazines like The New Yorker, Mother Jones, Harper's and that ilk. Otherwise you're getting it second-hand or stenographed.

well Chris Ahearn actually makes a pretty fair argument, but I don't any of them to forget who owns the water in the river.

The whole greed profit thing is out of control - money may motivate a lot of people, but if that's all you want it doesn't say a whole lot about you as a human being.

The BBC journalist are paid off the public dole - most writers, good ones anyway, are more interested in their craft not piling up gold.

Most will say they are quite lucky to be doing what they love for a living. Other than making a comfortable living how much do you need?

Those who want the kind of control piles of money bring seek only power over others and that is, for the use of a better word, evil. Perhaps a character flaw that steams from a mental illness.
