DSOTM: Senator Burr of NC, your days are numbered.

I live in the same area where Senator Burr lives. I'm not at all surprised by his vote, but his vote will definitely be remembered. There is a large Latino/Hispanic population in the area where I live, and I'm quite sure they won't forget his vote against Sotomayor, and neither will I.

Sen.Burr is pandering to his rural, bigoted base in NC that voted for McCain during the Presidential election.

Here you see the shell of what's left of the GOP-- only NINE senators, and all of them decent, intelligent, reasonable people.

That's what the GOP has left to build out from if they ever want to be a) respectable and b) dominant again.

If I were those 9, I'd start a new party or follow Specter's lead.

Wow! Did you see the list of 'No's'? A list of fools. Isn't it odd that a bunch of WASP's would want to end up on that list of the ship of fools? What sad and hateful men. Bitter and mean spirited.

Except for a couple of them, which came from Senators in states President Obama won, the vast majority of the no votes came from Senators in states McCain won.

The line has been drawn. And redrawn.

I think it's time for the Red States to secede from the Blue States. Sayonara, Republicans. Enjoy your ignorant little rump nation.

We, the nation of wise latinas, latinos, whites, blacks, browns, reds and yellows will not miss you.

I actually am a bit surprised over Hutchison. Cornyn? Not at all surprised.

I am surprised by Hutchinson's vote, too. I thought she would want to try and get some votes from the Latino community, since she is trying to run for Governor.
Now.....we get to vote for Governor of Texas. Decisions. Decisions.

For years we had to listen to how the Democrats constantly shot themselves in the foot. Now that the tables have turned, it's certainly fun to watch the Republicans do it. And they're doing it in a big way.

What do you expect. Lyndon Johnson would have had the right angle on McCain. To paraphrase LBJ: "That boy couldn't find his own [rear end] using both hands."

McCain is such fine judge of character: He picks the Quitter from Wasilla over JUSTICE Sotomayor. Must have forgotten his Geritol.
