Wishful thinking? Just thinking aloud.

Professor Dr. Stanley Collymore.

On the one hand he's decrying potential wholsesale annexation of his country by Russia, and on the other he's still asserting an eventual retaking of Ossetia and Abkhazia.

How about if you give those up and just focus and holding on to the independent Georgia that actually wants to be independent Georgia....your long term prospects will be much better.

Georgia is one of the countries which is a gateway to Central Asia, if one wants to avoid Iran. One needs to keep this in mind.

And yes, Putin is into Empire building.

It is a very wise idea to pick one's foreign allies very carefully.

It is even wiser when extending military alliances to make sure that the military alliance makes sense in terms of opposing forces and one's ability to project sufficient conventional force into the potential zone of conflict to counterbalance the opposing forces.

There is an appropriate quote from Bismarck to the effect that the Balkans were not worth the bones of one Pommeranian Grenadier.

Anytime the term "pro-western" president is used it is code for the CIA elected him into power...

The CIA does many evil things and the color revolutions is one of them in Georgia it was the Rose revolution meaning the CIA helped to rig the election outcome to usher in a puppet that will obey orders from the U.S.

He was trained and educated in the U.S., you fill in the blanks...

Iran was the green revolution but it failed...

Ukraine was the orange revolution and it is cracking...

Moldova, I do not recall that color but it failed...

Bulgaria, I do not recall that color...

Afghanistan, do we even have to bother with a color?

And so forth...

No doubt based on Saakashvili's actions a year ago, the Ossettians are saying the same thing about Saakashvili

georgians no doubt are asking the same question, why was there ethic cleaning of Georgians in Ossettia== why Russian peace keeper in a land they wanted back under Russian rule, why were Russians caught spying.

It is a difficult problem

The more I hear about Saakashvilli the more I don't trust him, I think he started that conflict with Russia and got alot of his own people hurt. And I would like to know what connections McCain has with his government.

it is a fairly good rule in foreign affairs to choose one's allies carefully and when there are no suitable choices available, walk away

otherwise one can get into all sorts of difficulties

it is an even better rule that when choosing allies in areas where one cannot really project power to be even more careful

some folks just never learn

You went to war with them--what else would you expect? We regularly target our enemies too--with Predator drones.

My question is why was Sacka shivili so intent on killing all those Ossettians?

"Sergei Bagapsh, the President of Abkhazia, and Eduard Kokoity, the South Ossetian leader, said that they would never return to Georgia. Mr Kokoity said that his people wanted unity with Russia"

Not a shocking statement from Abkhazia, they kicked all the Georgia's out, did ethic cleansing, which happens when they kick a people out. Russia's gave Russian passports in South Ossetian and Abkhazia. So...................

South Carolina did not want to rejoin the U.S., they even voted

Alabama has in their state constitution they can acquire foreign lands -- , guess we are lucky the Alabama governor is not into empire building. :-)

And any supporters of New World Order, will be thinking twice, Putin appears to want to be head.
