Crist

Miami Herald:

A success rate of less than a tenth of a percent might not sound like much, but to Gov. Charlie Crist it's campaign-trail bragging material for healthcare reform.

Crist's new Cover Florida healthcare proposal has signed up only 3,757 people in a state with nearly four million uninsured. Meantime, an estimated 77,250 Floridians have lost health-insurance coverage since Cover Florida began releasing statistics in March.

those plans that he is referring to are all a joke.
In reality you are paying something for nothing.
They came into existence now that there are proposals to
overhaul the health insurance industry. Just to show that there are low
cost plans. It's coverage is so ration that if they were food, you would be paying for
your own starvation.

It is sad that the politicians that write our laws and vote on bills, all seem to be totally delusional. I don't think there are two people in D.C. that agree on anything, or know what they are doing. They are making health care reform in to some kind of complicated problem, and no one in D.C. seems to want a valid solution. It is not like that don't have many other countries to model our plan after or get ideas from. They act like health care reform is a totally new issue that none of them have ever heard of, or have any intelligent ideas on. It is just a circus how our government operates against we the people at every turn and chance they get.

If agree with everything you've stated except, they DO know what their doing. They are accountable to those that have bought and paid for the offices that the hold (big corporations).

Figures. Another Republican eating the poor and telling them how much he's helping them.

Nope, a federal program would be much better. By letter in June, 2009, the Federal Government took over the State of Alaska's state-run Medicare/Medicaid program. The Federal Government became aware of the problems when wrongful death lawsuits were filed.

Seems that during Palin's partial term of office, 227 aged or disabled people died from lack of services and another 27 died before assessment for any service. Palin's own Death Panel?? Check out the link below which also has the ADN news article that explains.

Crist is an empty sun tan, hoping to get on the Senatorial band wagon where he can live out his life shilling in the wind.

I want the same health care coverage that Congress enjoys. Don't you?

A great slogan but I don't think you understand what health care coverage enjoys.

It is a serious of choices each with different plans with different benefits and different prices.
For the so called great coverage, it is expensive with no dental or vision coverage.

The Congressional plan in fact has for years been inferior to many large corporations.

How hollow can Republicans be? When property insurers in Florida started cutting off clients from coverage and precipitously raising their rates Crist himself proposed a government run property insurance to compete. So why the raw politics now? Where is the principle? Where is the consistency? This kind of waffling tells us that if Crist has power the manner in which he will wield that power is in line with who can supply campaign donations or some other reason, but nothing, nada to do with principle.

This is what we have been saying is wrong with politics in Washington and every other capitol. That is why I feel that we the citizens must stick to principle too: If we are unable to get a strong public option in health care reform we need to kill anything less and try to get into power even more people who agree with us. No sense going to a point that does not do the job or even get us in line to accomplish quality health care reform.

I do expect, though that we will get health care reform with a strong public option. Remember October last year when too many pundits told us that white America will never vote for a black man? This feels like that time too. A lot of meaningless noise.

Stay committed to principle.

So that is the "choice" that they are going on about? The freedom to choose less coverage for less money if you want?
So, I'm in the hospital with 4 of my fingers in a plastic baggie, and they tell me, "sorry, you are only covered for 2 fingers." Nice.

I'll keep my crazy socialist medicine here in Ontario thanks. We have the "All the fingers you can sever" plan.

To all you GOP individuals out there...

If universal healthcare is so BAD then why is the U.S. the only advanced nation without it? Moreover why hasn't one single country gone back to a for profit capitalistic private healthcare system and abolished their own universal care system?

How can you rage against reform because it will "RESTRICT everyone's choices" and yet you also are against reform because it doesn't RESTRICT covering abortions?

If government healthcare is so bad then why aren't you proposing that we strip veterans of their VA and Tricare benefits? Why don't you propose stripping the poor of their Medicaid benefits? Why don't you propose stripping seniors of their Medicare benefits? Why of all people hasn't one single GOP member voluntarily given up their own government health care benefits package yet? Why haven't you proposed forcing all the above mentioned individuals into the private health insurance market if government health care is so awful?

One more thing as ultraconservative as you GOP supporters are why haven't you advocated one of your core values.... Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for living a perfect healthy lifestyle and eating a perfect diet so we can all reduce long term costs to the health care system?

I'm a medical professional and would love to hear your answers. Just so you know I've actually spent hours researching how to best achieve universal care in America and here is my very well referenced article regarding this - http://bit.ly/9QLV8

Usually, when it comes to these topics, I feel inclined to comment because I am so frustrated with the demagoguery of the American right wing. Your post leaves nothing to be desired. I have also read your internet post and find your ideas not only sensible but also imperative, if we want to get things sorted out here. Thanks!

One of the biggest problem that i saw with the plan is that you have to be uninsured for 6 months to apply.
