She acknowledges that the book is semi-autobiographical: a murdered fiancé a hard-hitting, victim-rights prosecutor in Atlanta who sends hundreds of people to jail before burning out; a move to New York to start over.
"I'm very happy with her," Grace says of her character, Hailey Dean. "It's what you have to do to get justice. You have to be someone who cares about the victims and what they've been through. You become a zealot. But Hailey is a much better person than I am."
