The Plum Line:

On a private conference call, a group of top Tea Party and conservative organizers offered a surprisingly frank description of their goal, according to a source on the call: Completely blocking any kind of bipartisan compromise, and completely preventing any type of health care reform bill at all from ever becoming law.

I still do not see the media reporting ont the plant in the TH meetings. The Boston Globe exposed the little girl who asked BO a healthcare question at his TH Meeting. Seems her mother was a member of the Mass. Women for Obama. Shameful.

"She said no audio of the call exists."

Of course not! Rule #1...leave no witnesses or tangible evidence to your crimes. Would somebody please prosecute these people for SOMETHING!

Good. Now since we have their opinion, we can move forward without them.

And this " Weeding out otf the Private Insurance Companies" is what is needed! The Elephant in the room that no one is talking about through all this noise are the HMO's. Do you know that the CEO of one of the biggest "health care providers" UnitedHealth Care makes over $100.000/ hour with salary and stock options! Think about it $100.000/HOUR not year or month or week or even day that's per HOUR! That money comes from the sick and dying that are not being covered by his and other like minded companies. Take a couple of minutes and watch this new 6 minute documentary about it and all clear thinking people should get very angry and focus that anger where it'll do the most good by Educating yourself and others. Not by screaming stupidly about Government control or Socialism!

We do by enlarge ignore the biggest key to our success in bringing down long term costs when it comes to health care in America. And this would be a large cultural shift in our diet and lifestyles. To put it bluntly America is fat and sick. We have the individual choice to eat whatever we want and also the choice to exercise if we want. So why aren't we making better choices?

Because we are stubborn for one thing. But there does need to be a change in the political and media circles in this country. They help support the industries who give them campaign money. These industries include the dairy and meat industries. There is considerable unbiased scientific research out there that proves a high protein and high fat diet from animal based foods leads to almost all of the chronic diseases we suffer here in America. If this info is wrong then why are so many people in America fat and sick? Our government also loves to subsidize those who make highly processed foods with high fructose corn syrup in everything - read the farm bill.

I'm a medical professional and have actually spent hours researching how to best achieve universal care in America and here is my very well referenced article regarding this - http://bit.ly/9QLV8

Republicans don't need ideas, they have guns.
They don't need brains, they have Rush.
They don't need ethics or morals, they have God.
They don't need spokesmen, they have Sarah & Rush.
They don't need empathy or compassion, they are above it.
They don't need to make sense; people who support them hear what they want to hear.
Republicans don't need to do tell the truth…. they never have before.
They don’t need integrity, they have money.
They don’t need to help Americans, they can’t even help themselves.
They don’t need health care, the rapture is nigh.

The ignorant right views healthcare reform the same way they view gun control. If you take away assault rifles (which no one can give a good reason for owning) then they will come after your hand guns and sport weapons that you need for protection and/or hunting. If you let all Americans have affordable healthcare then the minorities won't die off before they are eligible for Social Security. Their children won't die before the age of 5 and eventually they will no longer be in the minority. Once this country has more unwhites than whites - the white people will have to pay for their past mistreatment of those minorities. It will be hell to pay.

All those guys out there who have been discriminating against blacks and hispanics, been denying them housing, low interest loans, a fair shake at promotions; are going to learn what it feels like to be judged by the color of your skin rather than the strength of your character. I don't think that it would happen that way once they have strength in numbers. I don't think they would do to white people what was done to them, but it scares the hell out of them to think that they might or could do.

When health care reform is defeated, or passed without a public option, and you right wingers watch your friends and family members sink under the weight of untreated, unaffordable ailments, or you join the millions of Americans bankrupted by preposterous medical expenses, do remember one thing, please.
You asked for it.

They will have caused it, and inflicted it on us. So a little schadenfreude is the very least they can do for us.

The problem with taking satisfaction in something like that is that there is so much collateral damage it will lead to another financial debacle like we are experiencing right now. A good bit of my net worth is tied up the equity of my modest home. I am in a race to finish paying for it before I retire so my wife and I can live out our years in the home we worked hard for, and at times feared for. If property values plummet around us due to bankruptcies and foreclosures it is analogous to those unfortunate people stealing from our little nest egg.

Again - we're all in this together.

Absolutely class:

The moderator added that "the Democrats will turn even a weak bill from the Senate Finance Committee into Canadian-style single-payer through underhanded implementation."

It could be a line out of South Park the Movie - Blame Canada!

Funny thing is some of these morons will lose their health care over time for various reasons and they will get sick. It's called Karma.

Ha everyone noticed these people tend to be from a certain age group? ...namely, the Baby-boomers! The psychotically self-involved generation who later couldn't sell out fast enough, is back to their "Me me me!!" understanding of society.

Even the oldest of the baby boomers is only 64 right now. Not even retired yet.

Whoa, Factotem! Be careful how you lump people into a certain category. I am a baby-boomer, and I have never been part of the "me, me, me" group you describe as the "psychotically self-involved generation." And there are plenty like me out there who support our president's agenda.

We believe that adequate health care is a right for all Americans. In addition, we probably pay far more than any other generation for our own health care. I pay $465 a month for a lousy HMO, and I'm rarely sick. I have no dental, vision or drug coverage. Can you imagine what THAT would cost?

Let's not get as over-zealous on placing blame as the right-wingers are.

So you choose to oppose the politics of fear and division used by the right wing by substituting your own generational division? What kind of sense does that make?

There's bias and there's reality. The baby boomer mindset created most of the problems of the last twenty years. And their overconnected kids are now "the dumbest generation."
See book of the same title.

Sorry, that would be the babyboomer's children that are the me,me,me,me,now, now, now, now. Instead of working for what the babyboomer have worked so hard to give the me,me,me kids. You are correct, we created this mess by wanting our kids to have better then us & all they have become are kids that think they are intitled to everything, RIGHT NOW.
