Xcel Submits Plan To Reduce Emissions By 10%

Xcel Energy has outlined a plan to boost its production of renewable energy, saying it wants to add about 980 megawatts of solar and wind power by 2015 and cut carbon emissions by 10 percent.
In a plan submitted late Monday to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, Xcel -- Colorado's largest power utility -- proposed steps to adjust its energy mix away from coal-fired power production and more toward "green" energy production.
