President Obama himself gave U.S. security operatives the green light to strike Baitullah Mehsud, according to CNN.
The leader of Pakistan's Taliban was reportedly killed while receiving a leg massage on the roof of his father's house when the CIA struck.
Yesterday CNN reported the Pakistani Taliban's party spokesman saying that Mehsud is still alive but had been injured.
However, today the Pentagon said it was 90% certain Mehsud was killed in the strike and will be operating based on that assumption, according to the Times of India.
Pakistani officials were reported Friday confirming the death of Mehsud in the strike.
