About 250 feet from my well in lovely Belen/Bethlehem NM. My wife suffers from Hepatitis C. Two years of Interferon treatment did absolutely Bupkis for her. We moved her 4 years ago and her Hep C viral load was over 6,000,000 copies. She's been drinking the healing waters of Bethlehem for 4 years. The last viral load we had done last year showed her under 800,000 copies. I'm actually thinking of bottling my well water and selling it AS "The Healing Waters Of Bethlehem".

How far my bottle of sparkling water travels to me? Let's see:
-from the tap with filter to the fridge - 3'
-from the fridge to the "soda stream" machine - 2'
-from the machine to the table (glasses are in a cupboard on the way) - 6'
My travels ca 11 feet!

Don't buy water in bottles! It costs a fortune, is bad for the environment and tastes just like the one from tap.

It's not a green thing to do, but I just love the taste of sparkling Perrier.

My 'bottled water' traveled as far as I had to carry my reusable stainless-steel bottle from the filtered tap.

On the whole foods brand 365 from Shasta CA... The city tap water there is as good as any bottled water that I have ever had.

I like Fiji water because it comes from so far away and I like the idea of bottled water from a pristine ecosystem. Evian comes from pretty far away too but I'm in Texas so the difference isn't as great and Fiji comes in a cool square bottle that has some heft to it.

Yeah first they ship empty bottles to Fiji (i would guess from china - thats around 8000miles),
then they ship full bottles back to US (ca 9000miles from US).
Not to mention small facts, like the one that Fiji water plant runs on diesel fuel (so much for pristine ecosystem).
But the bottle looks cool and that what counts

"But the bottle looks cool and that what counts" I know you're trying to be condescending but you're right! I do like the distinct shape. At work I keep the empty bottle on my desk even after I've transferred the water to my cup of ice. It's great to bat things around with.

Good chart.

The amount of energy wasted on producing the bottle, the plastic wasted making it, the paper wasted on the labels, the fuel wasted on air and road shipping. All so some paranoid consumer can put one glass of "Pure" water in their perfect body? Puh-leez The same people gorge on McDonalds and junk food. Don't buy into the myth. Drink tap water.

Bottled water is when local water is unsafe, or when you forgot to take water with you.

I agree. I try and keep my reusable bottle filled from home with me when running errands so that I don't have to spend $1.50 on 20oz. of water when I am out.

My wife likes carbonated water so we got a package from Soda Club: http://www.sodaclub.com/

I don't recommend their additives(soda) because they are full of artificial sweeteners but if you like Perrier this is a far cheaper and more eco-friendly way to fill you glass.
