I Like ItI Don’t Like It

After poking fun at the President and his town hall supporters last night, Jon Stewart turned his lens to those screaming and yelling that Obama is ruining America. The "Daily Show" declared war on this kind of crazy Monday with segments debunking the "death panel" rumors and mocking the double standards inherent in the praise Fox News heaps on these folks. Last night, he went further, decrying cable news networks for giving them airtime and treating them as experts. Stewart said that Sean Hannity found his new Joe the Plumber in the form of a woman who asked a passionate if uniformed question to Senator Arlen Specter then didn't listen to his response.

Fox would give airtime to anyone who opposes Obama.

I think I could start working for FOX news on Monday. I'm informed but after seeing the FOX bobble heads I'm sure I could act as dumb and uninformed as they do. I'm blonde, I think that counts. I'm older, but I could get a face lift, or I mean, like Greta. they could pay for it.

Someone told the angry mobs that enjoy rioting and mainly because their ideal leader didn't get elected that they could overthrow the government, therefore these people overlooking civil responsibilities and laws that they wouldn't under their ideal man. They are looking for an unfair fight. Now our ballot is being challenged by gun toter's. And I will be the first one to stand up to these people and fight back.

It's person's like this who are dismantaling this country.
They are so afraid of change that it's killing them inside. My question is how come we never see any African Americans voice their opinions about this topic. You might have to wonder if the media would allow them the air time they have given to the others in this debate. Maybe they figure that they are automatically for the President in whatever he does. That is not always true.
I have friends on both sides of the color spectrum who are afraid of change and we debate almost evey single day.

Let's all please remember that the United States and the Constitution is based on the idea of individual freedom. One of the important ideas that come with individual freedom is the idea of property rights which includes the money in your pocket. In a free society no one, (not even gov.) can force you to spend your hard earned money in the form of taxes on the project of their choice such as bank bailouts, AIG/CEO bonuses, auto industry, U.S. post office, roads, bridges, schools or etc. ___________(fill in the blank) This is why it was originally written in the Constitution that government will not be allowed to collect income tax. Which makes the IRS and the (FED. Reserve) unconstitutional. Yes these ideas have been ammended but that does not make it right to sieze private property.

Sure the health care industry sux. But remember, healthcare is not a right. So using or asking government to take money from one group of people and giving it to another (for whatever your cause) is IMMORAL. The only proper and moral role of government is to PROTECT individual freedom. Not to violate it by taking personal property. This was the reasoning behind the American Revolution. Boston Tea Party, "No taxation without Representation" does that ring a bell with anyone?

If you want health care to become better and cheaper, then the government needs to get out of the way of inovation and let the free market work.

The free market is a myth and Health Care is part of the responsibility of the Government to provide for the "general welfare" as described in the Constitution.

Allowing criminally negligent and corrupt companies to steal from the sick and dying is a national disgrace.

Allowing corporations to deceive and mislead people in the name of the almighty dollar is indefensible.

The Founding Fathers are dead and even they admitted their ideals werent infallible and allowed for changes in the Constitution for a reason--things change.

The US is 27th in the world in Health Care.

One of the big difference between the two of us is that I do believe health care should be a RIGHT! My God, it is a "right" in this country to Carry a Firearm and many do. Why should something as basic as LIFE be a right? And yes, taking money from one group and giving it to another is OK. It is done every day in the workplace.

Health care isn't a right. It's a commodity. Besides the fact that firearms are specifically mentioned as a right in the constitution, if I carry a firearm, I'm not taking anything away from you to exercise that right.

Taking money away from one group and giving it to another in the workplace is providing labor in exchange for compensation. It's a voluntary association.

Taking money away from one group and giving it to another without consent of the giver is either a mugging or government.

The founders specifically said that rights do *not* come from government, so health care simply can't be a right in the traditional, legal interpretation of the world.

I think a service that sends a letter 1500 miles for $0.44 is a pretty good deal. I was a post office basher too until I went outside America and realized no one does it better or cheaper than the US Postal service. Plus the postal workers in my town are simply awesome! Love them!

I think sending a letter 1500 miles for .44 is good to but I bet private industry could figure out a way to do it as well if not better.

Fine, but let them start from scratch. No current PO buildings to be used in the venture. I am tired of taxpayer giveways of infrastructure to greedy capitalists.

Actually, with all the news about violence, is carrying a gun in a strapped holster that crazy? Anybody out there actually believe that the police can really prevent you from getting hurt? Remember, people kill people, not guns. If somebody really wanted to kill anybody they could just keep it concealed until they want to use it, which would be more effective. Isn't this why we have laws against CONCEALED weapons?

Sad day for this nation when folks try to silence the right of a people to exercise their freedom of speech and expression!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:46 AM on 08/16/2009

Correct, these town hallers are nuts. The only freedom of speech they want to protect is theirs. They even threaten to harm people who exercise the freedom to speak a different point of view (guns at the town hall meeting? water the liberty tree?.) And they call themselves patriotic. Sheez!
